Moving 4 month old into Bugaboo Bee seat

My DS has been in the Bee carrycot since birth but is fast outgrowing it. He'll need to go into the seat soon. What are my best option for keeping him warm?

I don't really want to buy the cocoon as I imagine he'll be close to outgrowing that too.

I've looked at the footmuffs but I've read the universal footmuff is actually a poor fit on the Bee as it's too long. Is he too small for the footmuff at the moment?

As he's still so small, can I just bundle him up in blankets for the rest of this winter and worry about a muff next year? Or shall I get it this year to get my money's worth?

Any non Bugaboo brand universal footmuffs which fit the Bee well?

I have a cameleon and got the footmuff but it does come up very high even on my 9 month old. What about getting a padded pram suit and using blankets particularly as we’re on the way(ish) out of winter
I got my footmuff on eBay at half the price and perfect condition if you do decide to go for that
