Bugaboo Donkey Duo

I have a 2 year old DS and baby number 2 due end of June. I have searched and searched for a side by side pushchair and decided on the donkey. So I was in mothercare today, put my DS in the seat unit and his head is right at the top of the seat! If I put the sun shade over him he'd probably get friction burn on his head he's just turned 2 today and is quite tall for his age, but I expected him to have a little bit of a gap between his head and the top of the seat, and for him to at least last in it for this year. So now I don't know what to do. I can't find any other doubles that would be practical. He will start nursery a couple of months after baby is born so I like that the donkey can go back to a single for when I'm just out with baby, but will still need a double. Does anyone have the donkey and a DC similar age? Sorry for the long post!

Have you looked at the baby jogger city mini double? My 3 year old still fits comfortably in the one we’ve bought for our twins due any day.
Unfortunately though if being able to move back to a single is a must-have I’m not sure there are (m)any others that do that. Do you still have the buggy you had for DS? As presumably to turn from double to single donkey you’d have to stop at car or home to drop off DS seat?

I have this and it's fine when the hood is up as the hood sort of arches up - does that make sense?
