Changing from carry cot to seat

Just wondering what's the right time to change over from the carry cot setting to the seat for my little girl , she's just turn 3 months but is getting highly irritated not being able to see what's going on when laying down , but when I have the car seat attachment on the pram she's more then happy but i can't use it all the time

I think the guidelines are about 6 months or when the baby is strong and stable to be sitting up for the journey they will be doing.

Have you tried dangling (safely!) Some toys on the hood? Or a mirror? Something for her to look at.

Guidelines are 6 months, but I changed DD1 at about 3 months as I couldn't deal with her screaming in frustration whenever she was in the carrycot. I tried dangling toys etc, but it made no difference. I kept the seat reclined and she was happy with that.
DD2 is 4 and a half months and still happy in the carrycot so won't be moving her over yet.

Depends on your pram, the seat bit of ours was suitable from birth in its most reclined position which gave more of a view than the carry cot. Check the guidelines of yours.

Guidelines are 6 months for spine development and not squishing their airway by head flopping forward/to the side. However we've just switched at 4 months but ours is a bucket seat and i'm not overly happy with him being in it even though he has great head control. Apparently their legs being above their stomach (when reclined in a bucket seat) isn't great for their breathing as they breathe with their whole trunk? Anyway I'm now looking for a pushchair with a lie flat seat and will probably skip the whole carrycot thing next time and use a newborn cocoon. Lots of people use those until 8/9 months as baby is lying flat and can see out so is perfectly happy.
