2nd baby, new travel system advice needed after I hated our first! Dnt want to make a mistake again!

2nd baby due in June, DS will be almost 6. We had a silver cross surf with him; I really didn't get along with it. Mainly because it was heavy and had terribly small and inaccessible storage basket. Looking for a 2nd hand travel system but already confused with options and really dnt want to make a mistake again.

So, I am looking for a lightweight, easy folding travel system with great storage basket is a must! I also like to use a bassinet for the first few weeks/months.

Wld be useful if the pushchair part cld be reclined fully (or near enough). Altho I found I ended up switching to a maclaren XT quite quickly but maybe cos I hated the surf so much!

We also already have a maxi coat car seat which wld be useful to use with it.

Any recommendations?

Citi mini Gt. Quick one handed fold. Decent sized shopping basket. Fairly light and robust. Lies flat, suitable from birth with insert and can have carrycot. Compatible with maximum cosi with attachments. Only downsides are is not parent facing and the seat has a bit of a slope (you can get a sit up strap from eBay for £5 to fix this).

The oyster is pretty good.

Uppababy vista, does all that, but maybe not classed as light!

Uppababy Cruz. Huge basket, narrow enough to fit down the aisle of a bus, light compared to most prams and handles well.

You know you can get a carrycot for the maclaren techno now? Don't want to rob u of the fun of a new system, but just in case that does it!

We have the Oyster 2 and it does everything you mention. I now have a maclaren but not until DS was 9m old. I would have loved the Babyjogger City GT but it doesn't parent face.

Uppababy Vista is amazing I'm pretty sure it's got the largest storage basket ever.

It's not very light though but it really is a fantastic travel system.

My icandy peach has great storage, admittedly not that light but it only ever gets lifted in and out of the boot, that's what DH is for! Really easy to fold as well x

If you consider the City Mini GT, please be aware that when your child is in it you need to keep a hand on it at all times. The child is able to tip it backwards, and the part where they would hit their head on the ground isn't padded so a hard floor, or sharp rock or when out on a walk could cause serious brain damage. Also, people have reported that their kids can undo the buckle themselves and jump out the chair. I have a City Mini GT myself and I didn't know these things when I bought it, but can confirm it is definitely possible for a child to do them.

I also have a Silver Cross Wayfarer that I far prefer as a travel system. I would recommend the never version, the Pioneer though as it addresses the terrible wheel problem that the Wayfarer has (it always gets stuck on kerbs and will only drive well on pavement and not grass or uneven ground). It has a big shopping basket though it doesn't fold as easily or as small as the City Mini GT - but from what I can tell, it's lighter and folds easier than most travel systems. I have been looking at the Uppababy Vista, and though I've never tried it I'm very tempted as the basket looks HUGE, it has good wheels and folds really well to a good compact size.

Uppababy Cruz, it's smaller and lighter than the Vista, very easy to fold and unfold, and has a big basket.

You might also consider the Mamas & Papas Armadillo Flip XT, it's also light and and easy to fold, and it's cheaper (but if you're buying second-hand that might not be so much of an issue).
