Recommendations for higher weight limit buggy

Our trusty B smart has been creaking recently, and I happened to weigh DS today - he's 16.5kg! Over the weight recommendation for the buggy, which I suspect is why it has seemed uncooperative just lately 😒

He's only 2.1, and we walk long distances - 1.5 miles each way to the shops, nearly 1.5 mile round trip for the school run. Also I walk faster than I'm prepared to wait for him, so we need an alternative buggy.

Any recommendations? I like the look of the nipper, but it doesn't come with a basket (see above point about shops). Mountain buggy urban jungle and Phil & Teds sport go up to 20kg. Anything else I could consider?

We have an easywalker mosey. It has a 20kg weight limit if I remember correctly, I've had my 6 year old sitting in it before with no ill effects. It's lovely to push too.

We have the out n about nipper too and the basket situation is not good. I even bought the separate one you can get but rubbish, you can barely get anything in it.

That's handy to know - I wondered if I'd be able to live without a basket and I really don't think I could. I'm going to be one of those moms that push an empty pushchair around long after the kids have gone to uni outgrown it.

DD is 6 and also likes an occasional lift. I really wanted an easy walker mosey before DS was born because of the rear facing fold. I'll have another look at it. Thank you!

Mountain buggy swift is smaller version than urban but also goes to 20kg

Lots of buggies are actually fine up to a higher weight limit, it depends what testing they have had done for each country they sell in. If you google upper wight limit for various buggies you will see that many in the U.K. Are 15kg but will be 20-25kg in the US/AUS

How old is he? I'm guessing he is not a Small toddler if he weighs 16 kg. if he doesn't nap in the buggy a bike trike with parent handle might be better.

Actually, scrap that as 16kg could be only 2-3 why are they making buggies with such low weight limits?

Baby jogger city mini goes to 50lb so around 24kg? Big seats too and big basket.

We used the very large Mothercare 3-wheeler Urban Detour Buggy. Seems to be discontinued but lots on eBay.
Used it till DGS was 5 with lots of bags hanging off it on shopping or beach trips. Very robust and easy to manoeuvre.

DD didn't get to 15kg until she was in reception so this is a bit of a change for me.

I checked the BJ website and it said the city mini has a 15kg weight limit. But if it's a different limit in the states then maybe I'll get away with it!

Will look at the MB swift too. We do a lot of outdoors stuff, so that would probably suit better than a trike.

My icandy peach goes up to 25kg, top of our price range but we thought it was worth it as we will literally use it until DS refuses to sit still! Good sized basket too x

You can pile an enormous amount of stuff on the nipper 's hood, if that helps?

I'm having the same problem, plus mine is too long for his current pushchair as well! It's frustrating. He's not in it often but he can't walk miles yet so we do still need one for the school run.

I have baby jogger city mini. Highly recommend and definitely holds 25kg no probs as my children have tested this!

My iCandy Peach has a great weight limit in the seat, its up to 25kgs which is more than enough for a baby/ toddler, i think the rest of the range is also up to 25kg.
