Urbo2 vs Egg

Went to look at prams today. Was surprised by how big and bulky most of them felt- I'm a wee shortarse though! I really liked how small and compact the Mamas & Papas Urbo2 and the Egg prams felt and think we'll most definitely go for either of these. Does anyone have any prior experience with either?
The Urbo2 is about £300 cheaper, and is a lovely pram and folds down without having to take the seat off, but I prefer the look, feel and the folding mechanism of the Egg- plus it can turn into a tandem v easily if we have another. Any thoughts?

I'm not familiar with either but get the one that turns into a double. I bought a bugaboo cameleon initially and although I really loved it I needed a double so sold it and bought the uppababy vista new edition. I wanted the bugaboo donkey but just couldn't get my head around the width of it. The vista has been brilliant because it can be both double or single, like your choice, and with the ride on board it will carry me through baby 3# as well.
I love buggies though, I'd buy new ones every few months if my husband wouldn't loose his head 😝

There's no comparison really with an Urbo and an Egg....the Egg is far superior in design, wheels, build etc. The Egg is beautiful to push and use. If it helps, my Urbo brake didn't engage whilst out and about, even though I pressed the brake on. As a result it rolled off a kerb and into the path of an oncoming car. Thankfully I was putting my LO in the car at the time. I found the handlebar hard to the point where my hands hurt from the vibrations as I pushed. Get an Egg....you won't regret it.

I've got an Urbo2 and I adore it. I can't say anything bad about it at all. The only reason I have a second pushchair (a BJCM GT) is because I needed a one hand fold, which the Urbo2 isn't.

No knowledge of the egg but I know the Urbo only folds with the seat facing forwards.

You might be interested in the iCandy Raspberry. Similar spec to the Urbo. Folds with seat in either position. Stands up when folded, and wheels. Lightweight. Great to push but more suited to smoother ground.

I've got the Egg. Baby isn't here yet so I don't know what it will actually be like to use but it is lovely. It was on offer at Pramworld around Christmas, I bought mine at a huge discount from them in the end after searching for second hand ones for a while.

I liked the look of the urbo2 but I really didn't like the egg, it seemed really low and felt quite rickity to push, the carry cot looked really small as well x

If you like the urbo2 you might like vista Cruz they are very similar. I went for the Cruz in the end.

A bit late to the thread but just wanted to add that the Urbo was a lovely travel system for us although I have no experience of the Egg. Just be wary of buying a travel system because of its ability to turn into a double, I did this with the iCandy Peach which I loved but was virtually useless once we had our 2nd DC. The seat size is small so my eldest, at 2 years old, needed a bigger seat. We ended up buying a BJCM double to accommodate them both and not using the Peach as a double. Not sure about the Egg size but compare seats visually rather than going by the manufacturer guidelines like I did!

The egg is made by the same people who make oyster prams. I have an oyster max and believe it is comparable but for half the price! The fabrics aren't as luxe but I'm okay with that.
