Double buggy help. Worried I've made the wrong choice.

Hi all.

I am due my second in two weeks and went to look at double buggies. From previous advice i had fancied the outnabout or mountain buggy duet. Unfortunately the outnabout is the width of our Victorian front door so decided against it. I don't have a drive so can't keep it in the car.

The duet I went to see and although I really wanted the side by side. I hated the baby carrycot. I thought it was very small and didn't feel very comfy as you could feel the hard plastic rim around it. My little girl was with me and I tried her in took up most of the seat at 20 months. Apart from that I did like it.

I also tried her in the icandy peach blossom and pushed it around. I liked the carrycot and the fact that my daughter is in nursery a couple of days a week I can still use it as a single. It's also a good width for our house. The vista was too wide. I tried a few other inlines and felt this one was easiest to manoeuvre.

So I went for the icandy peach. Very expensive and hope we've made the right decision. I tend to walk into town each day and on footpaths. Has anyone got one? Are you happy with it? Have I made the right decision between the icandy and the mountain buggy duet?

I don't have one but my friend does and she loves it. As does her toddler- the baby is too young to have an opinion yet Smile

I hated my outnabout double - cheap and nasty - horrible to push, horrible - you made the right choice not to get it - plus it was much too wide and huge folded! Big mistake!!!!

I had an iCandy double (second hand) and I bloody loved it. I usually hate buggies but I loved this one.

I bought the I candy peach when I had my first purely on the assumption it would come in hand when I had a second.
I absolutely love it, number two due to arrive in the next few weeks so really glad I made this choice now!!

Ah thank you all so much. That has really put my mind at rest. I bought it new with a carrycot and we have not built it up yet and I'd kept my receipt. It seemed to be the only one that suited what we needed. I will get it built
up this week and ready for the new arrival. I liked that the carrycot was comfortable and suitable for over night sleeping for a new born and that the other seat was spacious for my toddler. I can also then use the buggy as a single when she is in nursery. It's so hard to know and so expensive. I feel much happier now thank you. I know there is no such thing as the perfect double buggy and there always had to be a compromise on something. X

Bit late but I got my peach recently and I absolutely love it, I was also unsure about spending such a large amount of money but when I push it I can feel why it's justified, really happy and I believe I made the right choice x

Thank you that's great to know. That's exactly how I feel. It's so expensive but hopefully worth it for comfort and ease of pushing. I'm going to enjoy it when our new baby arrives. I could have bought second hand but I've done that before and ended up having to buy a new one. X

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, but lots of people I know who had the I candy double, loved it when their children were small, but then found that the second child soon outgrew it. The bottom seat is very reclined and is very much tucked under the other. Might work if your eldest child will soon be out of the buggy, so depends on age gap? Just something to bear in mind? I had the city jogger select which I loved as the seats can go in a number of ways (facing each other, facing opposite etc) and also the second seat position is just a good.

Yes absolutely the right decision. It is one of the best double pushchairs on the market. I have had nearly them all. I had no problems putting my 5 year old in the Peach, and I know adults who have sat in the seat before now, so don't worry about seat size - the hood simply slides up to make more space.

There will be a 21 month gap so hopefully in a years time my eldest hopefully will not be in a buggy anymore. I looked at the city select but felt it was too long and it felt a bit heavier. The city mini side by side was also far too wide. Thanks twiggy I think I've picked the best one for my needs. X
