It's not side by side but I can really recommend the Uppababy Vista. You can do so many variations and it can be both single or double. I was also in mind for the donkey but decided against it for width reasons.
I'm sure you'd be happy with either.

I use the iCandy Peach, you have said you want a side by side but i can only recommend what i have. I love our peach, it makes it super simple to get in and out of places when we are shopping as it can fit on the bus and get in the smaller shops which is a big deal for my other half who doesn't always have a car. Its also looks great and is easy to use- i would deff say its worth having a look at in a shop :) Hope this helps.

I have a donkey and really like it. Light to push. Srable with two very different weights on board. Variations on how you want the seats/bassinet. Can be used as a single/or double. Easy to dismantle. Down sides are you need a big boot, it is quite wide and the raincovers are a nightmare to get on.

Do you find the donkey too wide for any shop doors or the bus/narrow pavements etc? I know how wide it is but can't envisage whether it would be a problem.

Have you made any decisions yet? we're in the same situation - soon to be 13 month age gap, we've just bought a house so funds are low.
