Easy to fold double pushchair

For a newborn and a 2 year old, any recommendations?

It needs to be quick and easy to fold, for putting in the car boot, and getting on buses, as well as reasonably narrow to fit in our doorway.

Any ideas? I'm torn between a maclaren style side by side, as it is easy to fold, and a Phil and Ted's for narrowness, but the harder fold puts me off.

Baby jogger city mini..... folds up in seconds and is a great pushchair, would highly recommend it and we've had lots!

Graco stadium duo. Narrow, light, one handed fold, large basket, and doesn't break the bank. I used one for a few months with DD and DS2. The only issue is it is only world facing. I'd have used it longer but DD likes to walk.

I have the out n about and I love it. However I don't think it's the best for folding when getting on buses!

Baby jogger city mini looks like a good option, I like the carry cot option available. Any reviews on the carrycot? Baby will likely be long and skinny.

How easy pottering ? The reviews weren't great one ease of folding. For context, I never worked out how to fold my bugaboo, and now love my maclaren (but the twin maclaren reviews are not great)

I just learnt that the bjcm double is not compatible with the carrycot Sad

Does anyone have any suggestions of an alternative brand carry cost/baby nest which could be used?

I like that the out n about nipper has a carrycot option, but the mixed reviews are slightly off putting.

From Google it seems it is possible to attach the carrycot to the bjcm, despite Kiddicare saying its not compatible.

I loved my bbcm - the Seats lay flat so you can use with a newborn without a carry cot.

I tried loads! Some were loaned to me, others I tried in store or owned.

The Maclaren was a pain with a nb and a toddler because of the uneven weight distribution, it would vere towards the road and was hard work to push for that reason.

I tried a jane 3 wheeler type but the toddler had to sit in the front seat, so all the weight was at the front, it was near I possible for me to get the thing up and down kerbs without tipping the whole thing over! The 4 wheel. Resign might be worth a try.

Many of the others weigh a ton before you place any chikdren in them!

But going back to the bbcm, it was a dream to push, even one handed, has big hoods which are great for sun/rain/blacking out over tired toddlers that need to sleep, cleverly folds in half by just picking it up from the straps on the seats, is very light and I also managed to fit into my Ford Fiesta boot. It would lay down with the wheels removed (really quick and easy push button release) but I preferred to stand it up by removing the boot shelf, which gave me more usable space.

I would like a carry cot if possible to keep baby nice and snug, but it seems like the bjcm ticks all the other boxes.

I'm getting a Phil and ted voyager for my twins when they're born. Folds up small with both seats in situ and both seats can be used as a carrycot/lay flat for babies. Have pushed it around the shop but obviously haven't used it yet.

BE aware the baby jogger city mini twin is very wide compared to others which could be an issue fitting on buses

Bjcm twin -76cm wide
Mountain buggy duet -63cm wide
Out and about nipper twin -72cm wide

I would go for the mountain buggy duet personally. It folds in one piece easily even though a bit heavier. Narrowest on the market for side by side pram. Can use as a single with basket instead of seat which would be good one eldest no longer uses pram

The problem with the Phil and teds is usually only one seat can recline. If baby at bottom the top toddler seat can't recline, if baby at top and toddler in bottom seat, the baby can't be reclined as will hit toddler in face below

I think you can recline the toddler seat with a baby. The baby goes at the bottom.

I don't think you can recline toddler seat on top unless you can on new model, as the baby under seat is actually the main seat laid down so toddler would be laying on baby
