Recommend a tandem buggy

I will have 17 months between DDs and want a tandem where the child at the back can still still what is going on, without being restricted by the seat in front. I don't mind about the cost, as I want to get the right one. My only other requirements are that it has to have a reasonable/good storage shelf and be comfortable.

Please can anyone recommend or suggest something suitable. Thank you.

There just seem too many to choose from and even trying out in the shop isn't always realistic of what they will be like day to day, which is why I find recommendations so useful.

Would you consider a side by side? We have a 17 month gap and the bugaboo donkey has been fabulous. It fits through shop doors/ our front door/ on pavements. Flexibility of using as a single too.

I really don't think I do want a side by side but, maybe I need to try a few out and see whether I have totally the wrong idea about them. Fitting through shop doors and use on pavements was one of my concerns, but it sounds like neither should be from what you say.

Does it collapse quite easily to go into the boot of a car (I have a big car, so plenty of room) and is it quite manageable?

Yes it collapses easily and fits in the boot of my car. It's not as light as the other bugaboos but manageable. Will last longer as you can use as single with buggy board too. Totally hammered ours and still going strong. All the canvas parts and hood can be machine washed- it's ace!

I used an Uppababy Vista as a single and I loved it. Sadly a car crushed it and I decided to downgrade to the cruz and save a bit of money

I have the abc design zoom it's really big but easy to push and I haven't found it a problem taking it in shops

Uppababy Vista 2015 would work (newer model) as the second seat is higher so the babies can both see out.

HUGE basket and a great pushchair all round

I tried out a bugaboo donkey and I really think it is too wide for me to use in the woodland and paths near my house but at least I know I definitely want a tandem. Will google the other suggestions and see if I can look at them in a shop.

Devon I have just googled the Uppababy and that is definitely what I am looking for. Hopefully I'll be able to find one in a shop to try out make sure it is comfortable to push.
