Light stroller. Handle some gravel

Hi all, I'm looking for a lightweight stroller for my DS whose 20 months, mainly for the nursery run. My husband takes her and as the station has no lift he lifts our current buggy (Cruz) with DS in it, which is starting to be impractical. So we're after something in the 6kg area. Where we live there is a gravel path of about 150 yards so looking for a stroller that can handle that reasonably well without falling apart after a couple of months.

I seem to have narrowed IT down to the Mclaren Techno XT and Uppababy g-luxe as they seem to have bigger wheels and suspension but very little information as to whether they can cope with a daily hit of gravel.

Can anyone advise or perhaps give your experience as to what you think will suit our needs or is there another I should consider? Thanks so much

I have babyjogger city mini gt which I think is around the 6kg mark. we have a gravel driveway and it copes with this very well. It has foam wheels so no chance of puncture etc. It handles amazingly and I love the one handed fold. It's not the tallest of buggies though which may be an issue. My 3 yo still fits in it but he's on the short side

I wouldn't get the maclaren. We used on holiday once and it was the worlds most awkward pram to steer.

I would probably go for a pram that folds in half rather than long. Fits in boot better and can be tucked in by seat on train

Micralite could be tipped on to its back wheels for the gravel bit. I also have a maclaren XT and it's not great with gravel.

The city mini is 7.6kg. It's quite wide- i couldn't really imagine someone carrying it singlehanded up and down stairs with a toddler in it on a regular basis. Though as your DD gets older it may become feasible for her to get out and your DH to collapse it and carry it up while she walks or is carried. It's easy enough to collapse one handed although getting it back up again needs two.
