Sticky rubber silver cross Pop handles?

I've got a second hand silver cross pop. It's the one with the grey handles that are a kind of a rubbery material. They are kind of tacky no matter what I wash them with and then they just get really grubby. Any tips?

Anyone?

We had this. The only way we solved it was by wrapping them In black electrical tape. We tried washing it with every solution you could think of but as soon as it dried it was sticky again .

You could put Citygrips on top of it. I use these on both my pushchairs (neither of which is sticky however) and they are great!

I was going to suggest putting covers on if you can't remove the sticky feeling
