replacement pushchair for an 8 month old?

Hello! I am struggling a bit here.

I got my sister's pushchair for my first son and it was falling apart a little for No2 but I persevered. However, my husband was chasing after the 3y old and has knackered it good and proper, with a wheel coming off.

I am now using a McLaren's style cheapo buggy, but as it has 2 separate handles it is really hard to steer with one hand (whilst holding on to the 3y old).

I need to get a new pushchair as it is rotten trying to get out and about. Obv the car seat will only fit in the knackered pram etc etc.

I don't know whether to get the full set up (I think I'd aim for a No3) or whether there is something else suitable for an 8 month old? its a bit of an in-between age. Any help appreciated!!!

Thanks - that's def an option. It looks as though it's down to 35 quid, so not really much of an outlay!

DD was regularly in her buggy until she was 3, we didn't get shot of it till she was 4. Whatever you get is going to be used for quite a while so personally I wouldn't scrimp if you don't have to.

Do you have a very limited budget?

If not, we've just got a BabyJogger City GT Mini and I love it. It's easy to manoeuvre, easy to fold and easy to use. And if you decide to have another you can get a carrycot for it, and/or adapters for Maxi Cosi car seats.

If you use it a lot then spending a bit more is better, IMO. Cheaper ones tend not to be able to do things like shift handle height.

Baby jogger definitely. Second hand city minis are all over the place and generally in good condition. But if you can stretch to it I agree that the GT is amazing. If my four year old would still go in a pushchair I'd still have it!

Yes agree re Babyjogger. Only thing is i didn't like it with the adaptors and carrycot/car seat - it sits very high up, and when its windy turns it into a bit of a sail! As a standalone buggy its great.

Budget isn't the biggest factor here - Not exactly limitless, but given that I got my pram, pushchair, car seats, etc from my careful older sister I haven't had a big outlay on baby equipment to say the least.

The babyjogger does look good. The GT version particularly so - a bit more solid. I didn't know of this brand, so thanks for that pointer!

Also recommend the baby jogger city mini- we too have the GT and it's great. We had it from birth with a carrycot; you can pick up a carrycot second hand for pretty cheap, or the seat lays back flat too for a newborn. I personally loved that the carrycot was higher up than most buggies :-) now DD is 14m and there is still tons of room for her. Folds up brilliantly and drives like a dream.

DD1 likes to go in the Baby Jogger when she can. She's nearly 4 and tall for her age.

I've just replaced my pram with a M&P Armadillo XT and I like it a lot. It lays completely flat and has a nice big hood so suitable for wee ones to sleep in.

I had read a review about this buggy - someone suggested that it was a bit unstable, and hard to get on and off the kerb with the position of the front wheel. Has anyone noticed this, or is it ok?
