Joolz Day vs. Uppababy Cruz 2015

I am a first-time mum looking for pushchair/pram advice. Early on in my pregnancy I fell in love with the Joolz Day. TBH, mostly for its looks. However after doing my research and testing it in store I was sold on its practicality as well. I have two remaining concerns about the Joolz Day - 1) the weight/heft and 2) the small and impractical shopping bag. I then recently looked at the new Uppababy Cruz 2015 and was impressed by how it scores on both accounts (very lightweight and a nice big shopping bag). But in my opinion the Cruz is not as attractive as the Joolz (I know, this shouldn't matter) and perhaps more importantly the Cruz seems a bit flimsy and wheels are smaller and have less suspension. One other small wrinkle is the Joolz seat has adjustable length footrest which is supposedly great for tall babies while Cruz is fixed footrest length.

We live in Central London and do not have a car so will be using our pram A LOT including all errands, taxis, and occasional tube and bus rides. We have a lift to our flat but there are several steps to get inside the building (as there are in almost every building), hence the concern about the Joolz weight. Would love perspective from any mums out there with positive or negative experiences with either pram! Thanks.

The Joolz Geo would overcome the issue with the small basket, and I don't think the weight is much different from the Day. I was comparing the Day, Geo & Uppababy Vista and went for the Geo as like you, I loved the Joolz styling and the practicality. I didn't try the Cruz as the wheels were small (and we're likely to use on dog walks as well as in the city) so can't comment on the comparable weight of that.

I've got the uppababy vista, very sturdy, large wheels so might be better than the Cruz?

Thanks for your feedback. My concern with both the Geo and Vista are the size and weight (as both are actually heavier and larger than the Joolz Day which I am already worried is too large and heavy). Do either of you use the Vista or Day on public transport, in small stores, and/or up and down a fair amount of steps (i.e. 4-5 steps to enter a house) often?

I have the Joolz day and love it. I had concerns about the small shopping bag too, but that was all. Apart from looks/feel of it, what I love about it is the seat and handlebar height, and the extra long pushchair seat, when the footrest is extended (both DH and I are tall and I have back problems...also figured we'd have a long lo, which we do!). The pushchair seat height is great when out and about as it's highchair height, so lo can join us at the table no fuss.

A year on, is the shopping bag an issue?...no, not really. We are in and out of the car all the time so this design means the chassis is very compact when folded up, and quick to open/collapse. The fact that it's small means you don't hoard and cart around loads of unnecessary crap (as my friend puts it! ). I keep in mine the rain cover and Joolz XL shopping bag, which is big enough for a basket of shopping and can quickly be pulled out and hooked up at a till. Everything else goes in the nappy bag.

Weight wise, as lo has grow so have my guns(!) so now it's a doddle, which is amazing considering I thought the empty car seat was heavy when pregnant! It's not something that's been issue for me anyway...and I shouldn't be lifting!

The only other thing I'd mention which is a design flaw is the loud click when you retracted the hood (can wake the baby after a walk!). Don't let this affect your decision...just one of those things that bugs you when everything else is so ergonomic!

I don't see many of them around, and I haven't had another pram so can't compare in detail...but I'm really pleased I picked it and I get compliments from lovely people.

Joolz have some user videos on YouTube, I found them helpful. Hope this all helps

We are considering the Joolz Day/Geo (I love the Day2 but it doesn't convert to a double), the Uppababy Cruz and the SilverCross Wayfarer. we are similar in that we live in zone 2 without a car so I've been quite focused on getting it on transport etc, as well as height (my DH is tall).

The Joolz is definitely my first choice, it is just that little bit more expensive. Good to hear such positive reviews, it really is a beautiful pram. We pushed one around for a while in John Lewis yesterday, and it didn't feel heavy. JL did say that there was a bit of a wait for them at the moment - although the time they gave in store was longer than the time online so I think there was a bit of sales pressure!
