What Double prams are out there please

Help with selecting a double pram please :) not keen on Phil and Teds, prefer icandy style. Expecting New Year's Eve, dd will be almost 21 months. At first I had decided to just go for a single pram but as time has gone on and daughter is more active and is at that age where she's wanting to run off and grab everything in shops. Thinking a double pram maybe more appropriate.

I had 22 month age gap with no 3 and bought the mountain buggy duet after months of research (pushchair geek here!). We changed the wheels to the none air filled type and it's working good as new two years later- I even pushed the two year old and four year old in it with newborn in a sling occasionally!
It made the world of difference being able to get through a normal doorway and it feels more like a single to push than a standard side by side. It is heavy but smooth to push. I've also used it in the single mode.
I had an icandy apple but the pear seats were too small for my large 22 month old so I think MBA is much better for a toddler and baby. I also found it easier as toddler can climb in and out rather than have to be lifted in and out of the apple type seat.
The carrycot was tiny and only lasted 3-4 months but I was happy with every other aspect.

Hi KLou, I also like the icandy style and went for the Peach 3 as it seemed like a good investment for when baby number 2 comes along! Completely agree with the above comment that a tandem is easier to push than a side by side, also the seats on the Peach can be expanded by raising the hood up so plenty of room.

Has anyone heard of the 'baby zoom'? pictures look good. For newborn and just turned 2 year old.

Bugaboo Donkey.

Got it when I had my second as my first wasn't a great walker. Loved it.

It is very expensive though. However, they have a great resale value. I sold mine for half of what I paid and I was fighting buyers off with a stick! Could have gotten more for it.

Ive had a few different side by sides and the bugaboo donkey was by far my favourite, so many seating options and neither child has to compromise unlike a tandem double, it pushes like a dream my only niggle was its a faff in and out of the car alot and its expensive. my 2nd favourite was the out and about nipper 360 double, the push is amazing like the donkey but its a one piece fold and alot cheaper than the donkey although that also had niggles I didn't like - It was huge folded and awkward lifting out of the boot, also the hoods are crap I dont think ill ever be happy.
My least favourite was the baby jogger city mini double, alot of people rave about this but I hated it! I found it big, awkward and heavy.

Theres no such thing as the perfect double so the best advice I can give is to pick a few you like, write down their pros and cons and see which one suits you best

I don't know if this helps but the easiest one I found for a newborn and toddler was just like McLaren twin techno double stroller (£330 at Mothercare). Not flash but really suitable for getting about. I agree with others tandem side by side was my favorite. And so long as bubs can lie back (as newborn needs to) personally I think that's all you need. They're super easy to pop up and down. My kids are older now but we also tried the mountain buggy type one with skateboard down the line (when oldest child was older) and these are a great option for older kids but they always want to be able to sit down eventually (unless they get to use a scooter and go ahead). I always came back to the one like the McLaren I mentioned. Lots to consider. Hope that helps.
