I bought an icandy Pear double second hand on ebay for my new born & 18 month old.I bought the maxi cosi yellow adapter separate which i put nearest me with my older child facing forwards.
I got it and thought it looked amazing!!
The first time i used it the chassis front wheels collapsed and the front seat fell out when i was walking home from the local shop down the road. I just managed to grab it before my daughter fell out. I was shaken and i panicked and was worried id not put it together correctly. The next time i checked & it was fine and the same happened resulting in my toddler nearly falling out AGAIN!
The only thing i did worry was with the heavier child been at the front (in the blue tab seat) so if i swapped and had them facing me but am terrified at trying it out at the risk of my childrens safety!
As it was after 30 days of the ebay purchase they said there was nothing they could do despite contacting the seller a number of times who ignored us & paypal (despite saying you have a 6 month guarantee) telling me was our word against hers!
We bought this the end of April as baby was due the start of May but id bad SPD during pregnancy so didnt use it until my baby was about 1month old as i couldnt walk.
Now im left with an expensive dangerous double i cant use and have had to revert back to using the quinny buzz frame for my 3month old with maxi cosi and a small stroller, so cant take them both out on my own.
I was going to contact icandy but after reading comments on here of people purchasing direct from a shop, icandy seam dismissive and dont want to know!!!!
Im so mad at myself for not trying it out sooner and trusting to get one second hand as my older two daughters had second hand quinny buzz each which were amazing and no problems!
Has this happned to anyone else?
Also i return to work in january and child care will be split between my Mum and partners Mum so need to buy a double, one thats good, reliable and doesnt cost a small fortune
Thank you :)
