Torn between baby jogger vue or baby zen yoyo

And wondered if any mumsnettees had any insite :-)

I have a bugaboo bee + which I LOVE but my incompetent husband cannot fold it, so he uses a cheap umbrella stroller which our DD hates as it doesn't recline.

Now, I'm considering selling the bugaboo bee + and the cheap stroller in favour of one of the above as we really only have space for one pram/buggy.

I narrowed my choice down the the babyjogger vue and the baby zen yoyo.

I'm a non driver, walk lots, fly about 3 times a year, get the bus occasionally and my husbands car boot is small.

In my mind there are positives and negatives for each.

Babyjogger vue:
Pros: can face parents, fully reclines, fairly lightweight, reasonable price.
Cons: no rain cover included, fairly long fold for what I'm used to, still on the pricey side so would want to buy a travel bag for it when we travel by air (about 3 times a year). Also need 2 hands to fold which isn't an issue as such but DD is currently in a hip spica cast so could be problematic

Baby zen yoyo:
Pros: incredibly compact fold, rain cover and bag included, one hand fold, reclines for naps
Cons: price, lack of parent facing option past 6 months

Any advice for a clueless mummy? Thanks

Ps: I'd be selling about £350 - £400 worth of bugaboo stuff to get this so want it right

I dont know much about the baby jogger but really liked the idea of baby zen yoyo. It was so easy to push in the shop, smooth and light - almost too light. The wheels however are really small and I imagine it would be a really really bumpy ride. I'm sticking with the bee :)

I think from watching the video you need two hands to fold the yoyo as well. The one thing that puts me off the Vue is how it looks when it is parent facing. I think Cosatto are bringing out a similar model called the To and Fro which seems to have some fabric to hide the extra seat, but the fabrics are very loud, no plain colour or even just a more subtle stripe.

I would be giving your husband an intensive course and keeping the Bee if I were you . Sorry, that's no help really.

Trust me I've tried to teach him but to no avail. Want to cry about the thought of selling it :-(

I've got the yoyo and we love it. I had the 0+ and have just changed to 6+
Best bits for me:
Very light and easy to fold, a great public transport pram. I'm small and found the bugaboo a nightmare to carry and fold, so heavy if you're carrying that and a baby.
Great for walking or cafes where the giant buggies can't fit

I've never found the forward facing a problem - there's a window in the roof so you can see baby

Downside is the basket is tiny. I use buggy clips for shopping though.
Also not a problem for me but some people want an adjustable handle, but it's fine for me and DH (5 ft 7 and 6 ft 1) but I've heard short people hate it

Oh and a bumpy ride sends DS to sleep so that for me is a bonus although I'm in a town and mainly on pavements or in parks. If you do lots of walking in forests etc it probably would be bumpy. The bloke in mothercare told me it's not for off-roading which was pretty funny for mothercare in Tottenham

It is a one handed fold but not really if you're getting your bags out to fold on the bus etc it's better with 2 hands. But you could do it one handed with practice

I'm 5'2 and found the Yoyo handle quite tall.

I'm 5'3 so the handle height may be a deal breaker

Baby jogger city zip might be worth a look, it's sturdy but compact and you can buy athe zip up IKEA trunk bag for less than £3 to put it in on the plane. It's not parent facing but it's very, very lovely!
