When would I need a pram for 2?

hi, ok, really novice question. I've just started looking at prams.

Just incase we do decide to have 2 children reasonably close together in age but what age would the first have to be to still need a pram?

What I'm trying to say is what's the age gap when you'd need to have 2 in a pram? So I'd need one that adapter seat thing.

And what age would it be ok for the eldest to just use a buggie board and the youngest take over the pram?

V dependent on individual child, on family circumstances, on day to day activities etc. How much you walk, the sort of places in which you walk, the activities you do, how you shop, all sorts of things. There are so many variables.

As a guide anywhere between 18m-3.5y, with a fair few outside at either end of that range. 1/3 of mine would have been fine with a board from 18m, one from 2-2.5 and the other from approaching 3. The latter one on that list being both the middle child and the most physically unruly generally.

So far on the list is maybe a Vista which does have the tandem option or the M&P sola which doesn't. I do prefer the M&P one

The vista looks amazing but be aware it's an enormous single, the 2015 one in particular is 67.5cm wide. A average sized single pram is 60cm ish, I think the sola is 60. The extra could make a big difference in tighter spaces. Have you had a look at the Icandy peach 3 and the babystyle egg?

Depends how much you want the double option I guess. Also maybe keep half an eye on the idea that whatever you buy you might want something smaller, lighter and simpler at some point anyway. Especially if you drive most places and buy something that needs the seat removing to fold. If you want to use one pram for a long period then buying one that folds with the seat on forward or parent facing is often useful.

Thanks, yeah since I've seen a few more today I can see how the vista does seem a little wider. I had a look at the icandy but prefer the M&P sola2.

We have a 15 month gap, never used a double pram. Neither used pram at all after 2 years. For the gap between 15 months-2 eldest just walked, buggy board, in sling on back, or in pram with smallest in sling depending on where we were going. Generally he walked though, and just sat on edge of pram or swapped baby into sling for journey home if tired by that point
