Tandem pushchair- City Select, Oyster Max?

I am yet again trying to find a tandem for my 2yo DD and newborn (due in June). DD is very stubborn and not always willing to be strapped in but still needs to nap/rest sometimes. My sister has BJ city Select which she likes but I have read it is heavy around corners. Oyster max looks good but seems hard to come by secondhand. I'd like to pay up to £300 secondhand, maybe more if there is something perfect but only available new. Is there another pushchair I should consider which

I haven't considered? Just seen the babystyle Egg but don't know much about it.

Maybe the iCandy Peach blossom? Seems quite similar to the oyster max but a lot more of them second hand. I just got a second hand oyster max which I love but you're right there are hardly any out there.

If money is tight, I would buy an Oyster Max second hand - single - and ask Babystyle when the new lie flat lower seat is coming out. Or look at an iCandy Peach Blossom 2 or 3 second hand (you can make a Blossom 3 from a Peach 2) or an iCandy Apple2Pear (not the older Pear).

The Egg is gorgeous but very expensive and not available just yet.

The egg is £699 and the second seat doesn't seem to be available yet. We can afford a new buggy but as this will be dc3 and we have gone through a fair few already DH won't be happy for me to spend so much! I will have a look at the peach blossom but it seems a bit cumbersome.

ICandy Peach 3 has been really good for me so far, not too heavy to lift and really easy to steer.

I really like the peach 3 but even secondhand it will come in at about £600-£700! I am probably being fussy but I don't like the mirror finish chassis of the older icandy peach models and oyster max. I haven't seen a secondhand black chassis oyster max yet. I am wondering whether to bother or just buy an old Phil and teds type pushchair instead? Not sure how good they are for newborns.

We have had the max and really liked it (thinking of selling it too if you're in East of England...)
I found it good to push one handed, though it is heavy up kerbs. Carrycot on the bottom was okay too, as I was worried about having the baby so far from sight, and she napped well in it. Mine are now 1 and 3.5 and it's getting a bit heavy, especially whilst wrangling a newly walking dd and lazy pre schooler!
Overall though, I'd recommend.

Found an oyster max at a good price so going for that for now. Should be able to get a carrycot at a reasonable price too. The lie flat lower seat is not available until July but will see how we manage with the carrycot before then.

I am having second thoughts about the oyster max as I found it heavy especially going up kerbs - can't tip it at all without putting my foot on the bar across the bottom. This is with one child (2yo) in the main seat so it will probably be heavier with two!

I've always put my foot on the bar at the back, it's not an issue for me. Most tandems have this problem I read when researching what to buy a couple years back.

I tend to have 8mo on top and 2yo underneith on the oystet max, it makes it easier up curbs!

I find it pretty impossible to move with 2yi in the main seat..

I've read that the peach is easier and lighter to push but not sure how long DD will fit into the seat and just read a review on madeformums saying it was also heavy to tip up kerbs. I do think the peach looks like a better single than the oyster max which is important as I will end up doing errands while dd is at nursery. Then again I will probably not use a double too often so probably better not to spend too much? I have thoroughly confused myself!

I've found the max to be a great single, important as I also use it often this way. To be honest, for the last few months my 3.7 yo has been using the second seat as a buggy board and just standing in it while the top seat faces me. This has been ideal - and bonus it entertains the baby too!
