Has anybody used the baby jogger city mini with a newborn?

I don't mean with a carrycot or car seat.
It says suitable from birth as it lays virtually flat, but a new born is going to be tiny in it won't it?

I've googled a city mini head/body support for newborn but not a lot comes up.

What did you use if you used city mini from birth?

We bought a Phil and teds pod thing that goes in it. Called a cocoon I think. Works really well as my baby is really snug in it.

We got ours on eBay though for about £20.

I used it just with the foot muff thing. It was fine.

Yes, lies flat, it's fine. Dd1 was in the double version from birth, we had a footmuff with a kind of head support bit. There are lots of nice enclosed style footmuffs available. Most of the infant support type things are universal fitting anyway so you wouldn't need to google city mini specific ones. The only issue with footmuffs is the pull strap, some footmuffs have holes you can thread it through, others you have to reach under the footmuff to fold.

I used a double and single City Mini from a few months old. I used a Bugaboo cocoon in my City Mini, but there are loads of baby cocoons which would fit in - I bet the iCandy newborn pod would fit; Baby Elegance make a lovely Snuggy Buggy which would be great etc.

Yes, and when it got colder I put her in a P&T Cocoon. The P&T Cocoon fits perfectly and the velcro straps on the cocoon even line up with the D rings on the City Mini. She would have been fine without the Cocoon though (although it was terribly handy for carrying her around).
