Donkey Vs Cameleon? HELP!

My LO is five months old. Having accepted a second hand pram when he was born, we're now looking to buy new.
I originally wanted a bugaboo Cameleon, but am now thinking that the Donkey would be a more sensible buy.
We would like a large family and will start trying for number two when our son is around one. I'm then thinking that the donkey will see us through from baby one to 3/4 . Is that a little over ambitious?
What I want to avoid is spending a small fortune on a single pram and then have to sell it and buy a double in a year or two when we're living off one salary. I also walk everywhere, so the pram will get a lot of use.
Any advice?

It depends if you're planning on having your DC less than 2 years apart.

If so then I would say buying a double now would be a worthwhile investment.

Personally I wouldn't get one for x2 children when you only have one. We have a 16month gap. Never used a double pram. Both children never sat in pram ever after 2.5 years so we are pram free ( ds2 is 3)

Have you considered the bugaboo bee? The chameleon we had was good, but tbh best for baby with carrycot, which yours is too old for, and we used as we had, but was a pain folding up ( we flew lots), and felt big and unnecessary by the time they were over a year. If I had rewound time I would have bought the bugaboo bee ( not sure they were even around 6 years ago though when we bought chameleon)

The donkey is a good piece of kit but huge- will it fit in your car? I will have a 21m gap between mine, when pg with dc1 I got an uppababy vista which is one of the few that (theoretically) convert to a double if you have a second dc. But ds turned out to be an early and good walker so am hoping to just use the buggy board for him and put dc2 in it. I totally see why people buy double buggies when they have two but personally would not invest in something as posh as a donkey unless I definitely needed it.

I bought ICandy Peach for the same reason - have DD now but planning another in a year, it's much cheaper to convert than buying a new one outright (and much easier to maneuver than the donkey)

I think we've decided that, for us, it will be a worthwhile investment. In mono form, it's the same price as the Cameleon I would choose, so, taking out the price factor, it has to be a better option than buying a single that doesn't convert.
