Please, need help!!! Lost in a sea of travel systems!!!!

Hello, can anyone please, help me to choose the right, best quality and cheapest travel system for my first baby? My budget is up to £400. I like britax affinity, but it's too expensive. I wouldn't mind if the travel system will last for my second child as well, but don't think so...

I am going for Britax Affinity travel system. If you want to buy it now there are loads of deals, so you can get the whole system for around £500. I have heard only good reviews on britax affinity with regards to the quality and safety and just cannot find any negatives online. Didnt come across any other system with similar feedback! I am also first time mum to be, so confused as you are, but I have set my heart now.
The buggu can last you up to 4 years, which is great value!

I don't know about different travel systems, but can I suggest you check that your baby will be able to lie flat?

It's important for babies to lie flat when they sleep, and not be scrunched upon a car seat. In any eventuality babies should not be in a car seat for more than 2 hours.

I'd recommend an Oyster Max at £399.

Lies completely flat so suitable from birth. You can then buy a second seat if you have another baby.

I've used mine as a double and really like it.

thank you so much... i would like to buy a pushchair which comes with a carrycot as well (or can be transformed to carrycot)... i found some recommendations for Mothercare Xpedior 4 Wheel Pram & Pushchair Travel System and it's cheap as well... do anyone have any experience with it?

I wouldn't buy a mothercare xpedior, they are cheap but the quality definitely reflects it.

I second the graco evo.

Have you thought about the Oba by Zezu? It's a great price for a sturdy pramette. If you want a good car seat, you can get adapters to fit the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix onto the Zezu.
You can often get the Cabriofix for £100 if you shop around.

I am no kind of expect on travel systems or what is the in mode of baby transport, but just wanted to say that when DS1 was a baby we bought a reasonably expensive pram/pushchair conversion.

It would last till he was 2.5 to 3, we were told.

When he was 9mo we put it up into the loft and switched to a Maclaren umbrella fold - light, manoeuvrable, fits easily in the boot and folds down to nothing much in seconds.

Just aiming to help before any of you spend £££ on something you may not use beyond a year.

You'll want something lightweight easy to fold easy to manage if you child is having a tantrum and you have to fold it down to get into the car at the same time etc there are multiple scenarios you need to take into account also the Obaby is very heavy and hard to manoeuvre/fold and the Xpedior is the #1 pram returned for repairs and refunds id go with the graco evo while the sale is on

I regretted buying a travel system. It was bulky and awkward (mother care spin) and we discovered that the pushchair seat was an odd shape which put my DS's legs higher than his body when lain flat.
I ended up buying a pushchair (cosatto that was actually suitable from birth) and a maxi cosi seat. The seat was £150 and the pushchair was on offer at boots for £120 and I got loads of advantage points too.

Think carefully about how you will use the pushchair before you buy.

Do you walk, use public transport or drive everywhere?

Where will it be stored at home?

Will you need to fold it often?

Do you plan to use it around town with smooth paths, cobbled streets and a bit of grass or will it be used on bumpy rural ground more?

Is the car seat attachment vital or would it just be occasional?

Asking these kind of questions will rule out lots of pushchairs and narrow your choice plus making sure you get something you're happy to use for 3 years.

Personally I chose a big pushchair with big fixed wheels because I walk everywhere and we live in the highlands so we had to be able to traipse through all weathers, I'm still using it almost 2 years on and will happily do so until we no longer need it. I do have a smaller pushchair that gets used on the rare occasion we use public transport but I like to be able to see her and it feels so flimsy sometimes despite being an expensive set up, its the baby jogger city mini BTW.

And also - bear in mind if you child is a live wire walker, you may not use it for 3 years.
My son flatly refused to use his pushchair once he could walk well. He's now nearly 4 and hasn't been in his pushchair since he was about 18 months old despite me strapping him in repeatedly

Going back to my earlier post a girl at MAMA got the ICandy cherry from their website for £200, she said it was a great deal for a stroller (she doesn't need the carrycot)

I've been so confused too!
Was looking at the Graco Evo but my friend found the pushchair fiddly so ended up buying another pushchair.
My sister got the mamas and papas Sola 2 (discounted from Glasgow pram centre) so not sure whether to get that.
Then there's another Hauck one I've seen and an infinity one... So confused.

I have just purchased a Chicco artic 3 in 1 travel system. Did anyone hear about it?

Why don't you think the Affinity will last for a second child? The quality for that price of pushchair is superb. It is one of the best pushchairs I have used for the money. I would absolutely consider it, if that is what you like and can afford it.
As others have said, the Cherry and Graco Evo are good cheaper options. The Baby Jogger Versa is a great all rounder. The Mamas and Papas Armadillo Flip, Babystyle Oyster 2, and Silvercross Pioneer would be on my 'look at' list.

It lightweight, folds really easy, really nice to push and good for different heights of people. From my 6 ft 4 husband to my 6 year old nephew.
Also I know this is probably frowned upon, but you can remove the carrycot from the frame with the baby in it as it has a clip on 3 way handle thing, it doesn't tip at all. I had 3 steps up to my front door and found this really handy when coming in from a walk.
You can also lie it completely flat in the pushchair mode.
My massive 18 month old is still in it, for long walks but I do have an umbrella fold as well.

I'd recommend a Silvercross wayfarer. I'm not sure what it costs now but was around 4-500 when we bought it. It's quite bulky but my LO is almost 2 and we still use it as our main buggy. Sturdy, comfy, repositionable, large basket etc etc
