£260 ORION 3-in-1 pushchair system off ebay - is it any good?

While looking for systems online, I came across this ORION system - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230867903403 .

It looks like a good deal for a travel system, but at £260 +£40p&p from Poland, I'm not willing to take that chance just yet.

Has anyone bought one of these?
What's the quality like?
The good and the bad points?
Aftersales service?

It's either taking the punt on this, or just paying more for one at Mothercare that we can at least try out.

I haven't heard of the brand but I wouldn't take the risk of buying it from Poland. Once you've received it, it would be very difficult to follow up with them on any faults, and I'm not sure about the warranty as usually warranties are specific to the country you live in? You would also need to be sure it meets safety tests, especially the car seat.

I don't think it's worth taking a punt on without seeing/trying it first as it would be a lot of money to waste if it's not right for you and you're unhappy with it. You would probably be better off going to an independent baby store in the UK or a big retailer like John Lewis or Mothercare to try lots out and find the one you like, then you can always look online for a deal once you have decided on the make/model.

Aside from the potential difficulty of returning it / customer services / repair issues if they crop up, any pushchair that you import will not be subject to the very rigorous British safety standards that we tend to take for granted.

So in the case of the pushchair, that will likely mean that the fabrics don't have to meet the same levels of fire-retardantness, the car seat may not meet our safety standards and the pushchair may not be as structurally sound / have pinchy bits / sharp bits.

Personally, I wouldn't import unless I knew an awful lot about the brand (eg babyjogger) and the differences between country safety standards. Just think of what could go wrong if you took a less-fire retardant buggy to a fireworks display for example.
Or someone flicked their cigarette out of a passing car.

If you're on a tight budget, you might want to look at second hand sales of well-regarded brands. Or post on here what your requirements are and we'll help you find something that suits.

Im originally from one if the countries around Poland, althrough I do not mive there for 13 years.
But I know these polish systems are very common there and many people drive over the border to buy these. Some are being sold in the stores and some on the street markets. My cousin got it and I have seen it is super heavy, about 15 kg chassis plus carrycot.

I would advise you to look here in UK for sales and deals, we have just bought complete travel system Sola city from Mamas and papas for little more than the price of the system you have shown.

Im not sure about differences of safety regulations between counties but would have tought they are the same for all EU countries?

Maybe you would be better of importing from USA as same things are generaly much cheaper there and sales are better.

I'm having same issue, the pushchairs over here are so expensive but I've not really seen any reviews or more information on these pushchairs so it's quite concerning. They could be brilliant pushchairs but I'm looking at if something breaks it can't really Be taken back and parts will be a nightmare to get so think I'm too going to have to look in local shops for pushchairs that are way over my price Mark.

Thanks so much for your replies. The consensus is: Don't do it!

I'm confident that if it's sold in Europe, it's got to meet European standards for safety, so I'd be satisfied on that count.

However, as many of you say, the next biggest issues are how to handle warranty repairs and how to test it (it's HEAVY, says Zahrah5).

Thanks CaptainsMorgansMistress, and many of our friends, who say that if we can't afford it, go second hand - that will most likely be what we'll do now. That way, we'll get a system from a brand that's known and can still service it here if necessary.

I don't know about that one but I got a little devils carrera sport travel system brand new for £270 (free p&p) and it is really good for the price.. May be worth checking out if you wanted one cheap from new x
