15month old and newborn

I need anew pushchair as DC 2 is on the way and DS is just 9months. So there will be a 15month gap between the two.
I have a silvercross surf but unfortunately I can't adapt that to a double pushchair. I think it is comparable with a buggy board once DS is older.
We also have the maxi cosi cabrio fix so maybe something to use with that?

Any recommendations are welcome!

I was just about to start a similar thread so just marking my place. I'm expecting DC2 and ds will be 19 months when s/he arrives. I've had a look at an i candy today but I'm not sure they "work" with a new born. It's so confusing! I've had a lot of advice of the "make ds walk" variety from MIL and using current buggy (quinny buzz) with a sling. Hoping someone who knows what they're doing comes along.

Nicky same problem here! Even if Ds can walk by then it won't be for long periods of time. I've used a sling with DS but we never totally got the hang of it. So if we went out we used to take sling and pushchair.
I also don't want to spend loads of money as the surf was q expensive!

I've got a 16 month age gap and recommend the baby jogger city select. Can also use it as a single or with buggy board when the oldest wants to walk.

I have the same age gap and bought an out n about double I love it lightweight turns easy and not especially expensive and I like that the babies are side by side. The only trouble I ever have is the wheels, make sure you have a good bike pump and not the recommended one.

Thesimplethings the one of these I saw from John Lewis says from 6 months only, did you get a new born insert??

We have 16 month gap. We didn't get a double and tbh I'm glad.

Baby in sling first few months or pram, with eldest in pram or walking or on buggy board.

With x2 small children we tended to go out in morning, back for lunch and naps and then back out in afternoon. Long all day trips weren't daily, and if they were could use sling and pram, usually both dh and I so could swap around, and would stop for lunch/ or go inside friends homes anyway so eldest could nap on sofas/ on lap in restaurants if needed.

By the time ds1 was 2 years we ditched pram 95% of the time as ds1 walked and ds2 in sling.

We live in London so no car, lots of walking, but can also get bus/ tube/ taxi as needed ( not possible easily with double)

You can get a bassinet for it and car seat adapters as well as seats. I got mine from John Lewis. Surprised they didn't tell you all the different seating options. Google it, it's very versatile.

NickyEds you can also use a wedge to make the seat suitable for a newborn. The silvercross or M&P Sola ones are often recommended on here.

My friend has the ICandy Peach, she used the cot until DD was 6 months-ish then moved her into the seat, she's got the cabrio fix too and can fit it on the bottom bit of the pram with some special connectors.

There will be 21m between mine I am hoping to get by with baby in sling initially then baby in buggy and DS1 on a buggy board a bit later. I don't do masses of walking though (we have a car) and if we do go on a mission somewhere it will be with dh so I guess we could take 2 buggies (we already have). DS already walks well though at 17 months otherwise we probably would need a double.

I'd be careful if you're considering an iCandy Peach, my DS outgrew the seat unit at about 16 months so I had to buy another stroller. I was warned about this when I bought it but I was blinded by the great features. When converted to a double the seat units become smaller, or at least the second one does, they are also to get larger children in and out of when it's set up as a double as one seat is behind the other. My DS is tall for his age but he's not wide at all, the problem with the seat unit is that the bottom of it acts as a step or a footrest but it's rounded and shallow. Older children can't really rest their feet on it so they have to hang over the edge and the metal bit digs in. The legs are just sort of dangling.

I've been looking at the BabyJogger City Mini, it's suitable from newborn and handles nicely, I never thought I'd need another travel system of pushchair when I bought the ICandy but unfortunately it just isn't suitable once babies turn to toddlers.

My friend had a similar problem with her ICandy so called them directly, apparently you can un-zip the hood part at the back and raise it up so it's higher for baby's head. All she did was move the straps at the back of the seat to the top position and move the hood up and she was able to use it until DD was 3 years old!
