I'm just entering the minefield of prams / travel systems.. anyway I have the option of an old bugaboo bee but I would have to buy a cacoon for it separately. Would this work ok for summer? Also does the bugaboo perform well off road? Or would I be better getting a travel system? Any advice as I'm quite clueless!

It's fine. I have the old version it's been going beautifully for 3 years and I got it second hand. Bought a cocoon off eBay and sold on after for nearly same price. Great buggy.

The 'old' bugaboo bee is the 2009 version, and is indeed a travel system. I'm about to dig ours back out next year for the arrival of ds2. You can get car seat adapters that make it a full travel system and its a brilliant buggy imho.

The cocoon is just a padded insert that the straps feed through. I used one in January when DS was born and he was very cosy. You can completely unzip the cover path so I imagine in summer you could just use a lighter blanket or sheet?

Congrats x
