Buying from USA via eBay

Has anyone bought their pram/pushchair from abroad (e.g. USA) via eBay?
I can save over £100 (on a Baby Jogger versa) so fairly tempted...
The downsides are obviously the delivery time, and issues with returns / the warranty.
Should I...?

The import fees and Vat. I think duty is only about 5% but then there's whatever VAT is right now. And a handling fee from the courier for having to collect the vAT from you (usually £8).

I have imported things before but only stuff you can't get here, a versa I would definitely buy here. Warranty, fire retardancy etc. I shipped some valco pushchair wheels from the US and the import vat was quite a lot even for a small item like that. Well it's same as normal vat, I can't remember if I paid anything else on top, I think not.

I found my pushchair cheaper through Amazon.com than via Amazon.co.uk. If you go right through to the 'order me' pages - but without actually committing to buy, you'll get a price breakdown including international shipping and import taxes.
Personally I'd use Amazon over eBay. They both should have buyer protection but you don't really want to have to be returning a big item back overseas.
