Inspired by discussion on 'is it crazy to buy a new pushchair for my 3yr old', this is a place for buggy obsessives big and small (the buggies, that is) to chat.

So, what r the signs for u that u r obsessed? What would the perfect buggy be?

Hurrah for The Shed. I used to be an habitué.
Pram days are long gone for me but I do still want one and check out the ones I like in the street. Sad git.

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 01/11/2014 08:41

I really need to stop buying bags. All my childminding children bring their own so I only actually have to carry my purse, phone and keys!! Just bought a bargain skip hop (£3.99 posted) but can't see it ever being used.

Cosytoes and raincovers are my latest 'thing'. I wanted zip-on raincovers but couldn't find any that worked. I don't want the proper ones because I haven't got anywhere to store them so am currently using a promenade apron which is showerproof enough for me to do the school dash from the car Grin

Elf - I am happy with my 2 and won't changing (until I can get a mosey!!) but am always looking at buggies on the street Blush

Cupoftchaiagain · 01/11/2014 18:12

I am forever checking out buggies in the street- more so than the lovely child in them!- and get very excited if I think I have spotted a new one.

Even if it in no way fits my own circumstances. I remember seeing a mum with what looked like a genuine twin carrycot as in one big double sized mattress, no partitions, on an emmajunga type base, and wanting to trail her as could not work out what it was. Anyone else?

Talking of rain covers, hiccup, I saw the mountain buggy raincover in use today and it looked so comfortable and warm on a dry, breezy day- it has a big opening at the front that was velcroed back so baby was sheltered but had lots of air and a view.
I would love to develop a cosy toes habit but have held back. A nice kaiser one I think.

They're just so expensive!! It really pains me to part with £50+ for the correct raincovers...although, I seem to be perfectly happy to part with considerably more for the buggy Blush

I seem to have worked my way through quite a large number of cosytoes but have now gone back to the one I had for ds (now 12yrs). An original green sheep buggysnuggle. I recently bought 2 new versions and returned them because they weren't a patch on my old one. It has been used every winter for 12 years and still looks new!!

I've just sold the kaiser I had...slightly regretting it but prefer the sheep Grin

GreenKay · 01/11/2014 22:29

After 8 buggies in 9 months I am happy with the city mini GT and a babyzen yoyo. I've had a M&P Urbo, Micralite Toro, Quinny zapp Xtra, Joie Litetrax (now at granny's excellent for the price!!) Joie Brisk and Stokke Xplory. I liked the Micralite but DH didn't. Now winter is coming I'm glad to have the sturdy GT but the yoyo is life-changing in its convenience. I'd recommend this combo to any new mum!

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 02/11/2014 19:45

Shock I have found my mecca!! Grin
I am ridiculously into pushchairs, buggys and all their accessories.

Cup of - I once had a customer come into where I was working with a double carrycot, a real no partition double. Was excellent. The twins were cuddled up together looking so snug! It was gorgeous. She had it made custom order somewhere like Germany? Can't quite remember but it was fab.

So, have had (so far Blush) m&p Mylo, m&p urbo, 2 x maclaren quests and have just got a p&t second hand.
Went off the Mylo straight away. What a waste of money! Replaced with urbo which I love love love. Got a 2nd hand quest which was v scruffy so managed to get a bargain new one but I hate it Blush. Daren't tell dh. It's our holiday stroller and that's about all it's good for.
My urbo is fab. Love it to bits. Got a buggy board for it now dc2 is here but I bloody hate the combo! I'm a fast walker and got the board for when I need to get somewhere fast. Can't bloody walk fast enough with board on. So, gone for a 2nd hand p&t double for when need to get places fast and will use urbo for when I have time to dawdle. Really hope it works out! Dd1 is a great walker but not fast for long walks. Dc2 is only 6 weeks but bloody huge so my plan of sling and buggy is not going to work!

Cupoftchaiagain · 02/11/2014 20:17

It is a bit of an odd hobby... I would like to see one of us go on mastermind with this as a specialised subject!
Showme, u haven't done badly at all compared to some people's hoards! For me the buggy habit also spills over into slings.. But that is for another thread.
I love a buggy which is a little bit different. Like the double we mentioned. Or my fave out of all of ours, which is a 1970s maclaren with the blue and white stripe deck chair seat. It weighs nothing! Also looks like a toy, so can't leave lying about in play parks :)

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 02/11/2014 20:21

Show - maybe you need a new sling!! Grin I believe there is a huge selection of slings but I just can't my head around the whole thing. I have an Amazonas which I thought was the same as the 'popular' sling with the baby-wearers at school but I think it's a cheaper version and I don't know any of them well enough to ask. I have used it, successfully, with my beast of a baby mindee but only for short distances (from the car to school), probably only 20 mins, max. It has the option of using it to carry the baby on your back but you have to sort of move the baby, in the sling, around your back to get it on and I'm a bit too scared to try it incase I drop the baby!!

I had a big M&P when ds was a baby...back in the days when I had no Internet or computer to search for bargains and also there wasn't anywhere near the choice there is now.

Love P&T!! I've worked my way through about 7 or 8 Blush...long story and it was over 9 years Grin.

Could you fix the buggyboard to the P&T? I used to find it manageable on my Sport because the child stood in front of the handlebar so didn't restrict my stride as much.

Hiccup, it's a close caboo and I do like it but I am massive in the boob dept, monster baby + this ridiculous warm weather means I'm just too hot! Plus I feel a bit like strapping them both in, chucking a bag underneath and being a bit 'hands free' to have a fast stride along with the pram Grin.
Need the exercise (can't go fast enough with dd) too.
Plan is to keep quest for holidays and urbo for when we have time to let dd walk. I jus can't part with the urbo and hope to still get loads of use out of it. Hoping the p&t is a bit of a gap filler until dd gets faster/goes to school.
Bit scared about it though, hope it's as good as I've seen the reviews to be!
I could write a list as long as my arm of the prams I'd like to try. Dh is VERY Hmm when I get looking. Had to hide this latest one until I could persuade him I NEEEEEED it! Grin
Luckily he is very very into his bikes and has three so voila! 3 bikes for 3 pushchairs
Smile

ElfLottery · 03/11/2014 13:27

Yep the double carrycot is Mountain Buggy. I got one for a friend off eBay. Only thing is that they are quite shallow and her twins were bursting out of it after a few months.

sweetmelody · 05/11/2014 06:18

Nwilson did your mosey arrive? Tell us all about it !!

nwilson12 · 05/11/2014 07:23

sweet no :( it hasn't. Got a call to say it would be the end of next week as it's new they have to order it in. I wasn't very happy but phoned other stockists and they were the same. It better be worth waiting for!!

sweetmelody · 05/11/2014 08:34

I don't know what to do about my situation since I have talked myself into the Mosey being perfect, but I haven't seen it in the flesh.

I finally spoke to a very helpful lady at GPC yesterday and she said that if I ordered it and decided I didn't want it, then they would take it back, but it would have to be in the condition it was delivered (i.e. unassembled) and I don't think that is much use to me.

no-one in the store has seen it, as they don't have one on display yet, so they cant advise how it compares to anything else.

I've looked at the Raspberry and have discounted (tried two different ones and one of the wheels wobbled on both). I do like the Bee but it is soooo expensive (I need car seat, carrycot/nest etc). This is my second child and with my first (7 years ago), I started with the Chameleon and progressed to the BJCM. Did consider the BJCM with carrycot, but that set up looks a bit ugly to me...

I don't have long to decide!!

nwilson12 · 05/11/2014 09:39

sweet when are you due? I will give an update as soon as I get it and post photos. Have you read the review of it on bestbuggy.co.UK ? I have purchased pushchairs before then decided they weren't for me. I have built them up then dismantled them. As long as it's unused and protective wrapping left on and you can get all the bits back in the box (can be tricky) the shop will take it back. Will keep you updated on the mosey.

Ihateparties · 05/11/2014 09:48

I've never had anything I couldn't repackage after assembling and deciding it wasn't right. Photos as you bring it out of the box doesn't half help though :-D

sweetmelody · 05/11/2014 09:57

Thanks both. I'm due Boxing Day. Have read the bestbuggy.co.uk and everything else about it that I have managed to get my hands on Grin

Yes do please let me know what you think when you have checked it out in the flesh.

Zozo1982 · 05/11/2014 12:46

In case it helps, I have used the bjcm gt with carrycot. If you take the fabric off the pushchair, it looks much better.

sweetmelody · 06/11/2014 09:16

Thanks zozo - I may be back to considering the bjcm, but I am still hopeful for a Mosey....

nwilson12 · 06/11/2014 17:07

sweet I've found another website with photos and a video of the mosey being used. The site is in french but it has loads of photos. Might help you decide if it's the one for you.

puericulture.forumactif.com/t29851-reportage-easywalker-mosey-et-accessoires

If you scroll down to the comments section after all the photos there is a video which shows it being used outside

sweetmelody · 07/11/2014 11:18

Aww thanks NW! That site is going to keep me busy for a while. I've seen the video before but looking forward to checking out all the pictures

Tiggywunkle · 12/11/2014 22:08

Pulls up a box and sits down

I have a Mosey and I luffs it loads :)

(And more than a shed full of other pushchairs!)

sweetmelody · 13/11/2014 15:08

Ah tiggy - pleased to meet you. Your name has popped up a few times when I've search threads for info on the mosey. I had you down as some kinda expert pushchair reviewer so I'm happy to let you talk me into a Mosey!!

I have a 7 year old so am a long time out of the pushchair game. I had a Chameleon when he was born, and was pretty happy with the BJCM I replaced that with when I needed a stroller. I like good design and a quality finish (the Raspberry seemed to be a bit lacking in this respect). Is the Mosey for me??
