Uppababy vista or bugaboo cameleon

We are expecting our first baby in Jan and are trying to get organised. After lots of pram research, we have narrowed it down to the cameleon or the vista. OH is particularly enamoured with the bugaboo but it is obv a bit more expensive and we are trying to figure out if it is worth the extra!
Does anybody have either of these for any thoughts?

Vista here and love it. Very sturdy, lighter than other similar travel systems and easy to manoeuvre.

Another vote for the vista, I love it, great for long walks and I've kept it for my second still looks excellent after 2 years.

I love my Vista. We have the 2010 model, bought for DS. Now being used by DD, it still looks brand new, four years later.

I've got a cameleon and it's ok but the downsides are:

Raincover a stupidly tight fit and almost impossible to get on especially when it's raining and you have a wailing or sleeping baby inside.
Basket is really hard to access with the carrycot in place.
The basket flips upside down when you fold up the chassis so all your stuff tips out all over the floor.

Don't know about the vista but i now have a baby jogger city mini and love it, it can be used from birth with a carrycot and you can get car adapters too. I think that for the money, the cameleon has some serious design flaws! Although i also think there is no such thing as the perfect pram.

The Vista is great if you walk a lot, very easy to steer and sturdy. It has a massive shopping basket too. Less good if you need to use public transport as it is quite wide.

I actually like my cameleon. It's very easy to push. The carrycot is huge. I don't really store much in the basket so that one isn't a problem for me. The rain cover is stupid though. It's so tight it's impossible to fit on. I just drape it over the carrycot/seat. I also have a maclaren and the rain cover on that fits so much better.

I don't have the vista so can't compare.

I drive to places though and if I walk it is country walk so there is shopping to carry and all stuff fits into the changing bag that is hung on the handle.

I was torn between these two too, but after 6 months daily use I love my vista:

Turns on a sixpence
Very easy and light to manoeuvre
The seat is higher than the bugaboo which I prefer
Massive basket - I've managed a small weekly shop
About £400 cheaper

The only down side is the width. I have taken whole shop displays with me on more than one occasion and I pop off the wheel to put it in the boot of my golf.
Oh and the ganoosh footmuff is fugly, forcing you to buy a gorgeous lambskin one

Definitely the Vista! I was between these two and had actually preferred the chameleon before going to test them out. The Vista's carrycot is bigger than the chameleon's and the whole pram just felt sturdier and better quality. As a PP pointed out, the Vista is also higher which seemed more convenient for picking baby up and talking to them.

Vista-High seat is really useful, have drawn dd up to table in coffee shops, similar height to most high chairs.

Massive basket is really useful, especially in the early days...changing bag, endless nappies, raincover, coat for me, blanket etc etc. Plus shopping etc. I've never not bought something because it doesn't fit in.

Also can add another seat fairly easily or buggy board if you're planning on another. Although it's meant to be easier to do this on the new model (I have 2013 model).

Downside is raincover, when it's raining I seem to have to adjust it a bit, but then I might be dippy and not put it on properly.

TBH both are excellent. The Vista is probably the better, however, I personally don't like the tall gawkiness of the Vista and I prefer the more squat, lower to the ground Cameleon. Go and try them both out and see which you prefer.

How tall are you and how much does size matter to you? I preferred the vista on paper (better basket, hood, brake) but I'm 5'3 and found it felt far too tall and huge in real life. Like the 4x4 of prams. Cameleon is a better size, to me.

I see lots of cameleons being used with toddlers whereas I only see vistas with babies, so wonder if you'd be more likely to want to switch to a stroller if you had a vista. (presumably due to the size).

minipie I think you are right about the toddler. My DD1 can climb onto the cameleon herself. If the vista has a very high chair not sure if she could get onto the chair herself.

We used our Vista first time around until DS was nearly three, at which point he decided he wanted to walk (ie be carried) everywhere.

I'm 6ft tall; the Vista was one of the few strollers that I tried where I didn't fall over my own feet when pushing it. It's superb if you or DH are on the tall side.

Vista. So easy to push and steer and unlike my friend with the bugaboo I can get everything I need for a day out in the basket so no need to hang things on the handle. Also a proper built in sunshade so no need to clip on a muslin. Try both out and see.

I love my vista, if you search my name and vista you can see long post on another thread why.

Mainly due to all the reasons above but an added bonus is I hurt my back due to pregnancy and birth and so had to get others to help me a lot.

It is so easy to use no one has had an issue and has fitted into any car with the super simple push of main wheels. It even fitted into a fiet500.

Love it, even now my back is still bad I can lift it, remove carry cot, collapse and fit in a car.

Also due to large carry cot size DS can fit in it long after others have out grown their carry cots. Fitted sun protection is also super and rain covers so easy to use. Love it.

I've used my Vista with a friend's 2.5 year old with no issues. She loved being a bit higher up as she could see more. DD is nearly 11 months and I've got no intention of getting a stroller.

Love love love my vista.
Walk everywhere or take the bus and it copes just fine, as the steering is great.
Basket = enormous.
I am 5ft3 - the handle bar height was my big concern and it has not been a problem at all, I have even gone on jogs with it!
Best thing - the bassinet. Daughter preferred it to her moses basket and ended up sleeping in it until she was 7 months! It is one of the only prams that they can safely sleep overnight in I think...

Now expecting no. 2... do not want to get a double as love it so much, desperate to find a way to use the pram even though DD1 will only be 20 months :-s

Everybody seems to love their vistas! To be honest it was my first choice of the two before I started this thread! Now just to pick a colour!
