icandy pip converter

Hi
I'm 33 weeks now and have a 19 month old DS. I bought a second hand icandy apple and want to buy the pip converter to upgrade it to a double. I researched this a bit and found out they now have a new simpler converter as opposed to the original big frame. Does anyone know if the new converter (black click-on pieces) will work on an old icandy apple chassis?
My understanding is that the new converter is simpler to use as you can fold the buggy without taking it off.
Also, on the pictures it looks like the new converter has the lower seat almost at wheel level. The old converter seems to have both seats higher up. Does this make any difference in terms of getting in and out of car, comfort for babies etc.
Please can someone share their experience.
thanks

hi carla I asked my friend who upgraded from an old apple to a new apple2pear and she said no, apparently you need to use the old big frame one as there's a metal bar on the bottom that means you can't use the clip on converters. Sorry!

thanks for such a quick reply.
I looked at demos of both the old and new apple. They both have a bar across the front of the buggy but none at the back (as far as i can tell-my buggy's on the loft and can't get it down, being 33 wks pregnant). I'm now very confused. I guess I'll have to go into a shop and have a good look at the difference between the old and new apple.
thanks anyway.
