out of interest plus my love of planning ahead!
is anyone using this as a tandem for 2 different age. children?
I brought this as I liked it basically wasn't too bothered about the ability to make it a double but hey it might be useful.
what bothers me is that you seem to have to have the newborn nest facing away from you and at the bottom, is that right?

Yep, that's right afaik.

It's hard to get precisely what you want out of a tandem though.. Any tandem. Some have the baby facing you in the top position but have other compromises, it's usually a matter of figuring out what you want most then working out what comes closest to that brief.

Fwiw as you already have it, in the event you do end up needing a double then I personally would stick with it for the other things it offers.

thank you for answering. I guess its true of any single pram, there are still certain aspects of it as a single that I think could be better.
I previously didn't like this idea of 'stacking' children looks a bit of a squash and you lose the basket. I put the changing bag in the basket at the moment as I find if I put it on the handle it pushes down on the seat (ds facing me) or drags on the floor (ds facing away) but perhaps this is just my bag.
although I originally didn't like the bugaboo I do like that the children are next to each other.

There is loads of space between the Apple 2 Pear seats. It is also unrivalled in its amazing handling abilities. It is so easy to manoeuvre even with older children on board. The lack of storage is an issue though, but maybe downsize changing kit and work out some panniers or invest a nice comfy trendy rucksack / over body bag. Having said that you can hang a bag off the handlebars although it is not recommended.

My friend has apple2pear and really rates it highly -like Tiggywunkle says there's plenty of space between the two seats for her DD and DS. The newborn cot didn't face her which she was a bit disappointed with but she was happy that her car seat did face her when it was in the lower position.

Hi, I'm new to MN and was wondering if anyone could enlighten me...
I'm 33 weeks now and have a 19 month old DS. I bought a second hand icandy apple and want to buy the pip converter to upgrade it to a double. I researched this a bit and found out they now have a new simpler converter as opposed to the original big frame. Does anyone know if the new converter (black click-on pieces) will work on an old icandy apple chassis?
My understanding is that the new converter is simpler to use as you can fold the buggy without taking it off.
Also, on the pictures it looks like the new converter has the lower seat almost at wheel level. The old converter seems to have both seats higher up. Does this make any difference in terms of getting in and out of car, comfort for babies etc.
Please can someone share their experience.
thanks

carla I wouldn't have a clue, perhaps best to phone icandy. I have before with a very daft question and they were very helpful.
