lightweight pushchair that's easy to fold and unfold and throw in the boot of the car

We are moving house and from September I'll have to drive DD to school as it's too far to walk. I may also have to get the bus there occasionally when DH has the car.

I have a baby who is 6 months old and a 1st gen bugaboo cam which is fiddly and bulky so I'm looking for a pushchair that's quick and easy to fold and unfold several times a day and light enough to carry on the bus.

Is an umbrella fold the way to go? I had a maclaren when DD was little but found it too long when folded to carry about easily. But the fold was very easy. I want something similar but easier to carry, I have a bad back so the lighter the better!

Babyzen yoyo if it is in your budget.

Very small, about 5kg, has carry strap included and easy to fold and unfold.

Mamas and papas armadillo - very very easy to fold, it folds in half and I can do it with one hand meaning I can hold dd2 whilst I'm folding if up and down.

It's amazing to push and a big shopping basket and a huge seat even though it's small and lightweight. It has a handle to carry it too

Have a look on YouTube a

On YouTube at the tutorial videos, they are great and give you a good idea of what will work for you.

Should add, I sold my cameleon (same reasons as you actually) and bought this one and I don't regret it Smile

We love our Obaby (£60 from Boots).

I don't think I can justify the cost of a babyzen yoyo.

The mamas and papas one looks good.

There is going to be a smaller version of the armadillo in September (I think) the armadillo city. Narrower, smaller wheels etc. Might be suitable. There's also the recaro babyzen and mountain buggy nano.

Baby jogger City Mini

Easiest fold ever

bonzo77 · 04/08/2014 20:44

Another one for City mini. It's like a magic trick the way it opens and shuts. Shop around, I got mine for under £200.

Bjcm! Nothing beats it. I've had it for 2 kids for last 5 years and people still do this Shock when I fold it Grin. Never felt the need to get a travel system or stroller etc.

Oh, and try ebay for one. And shop around. They seem a lot more expensive than when I got mine new.

We just had to buy an emergency pushchair on holiday after over optimistically going without one

We got a maclaren mark II. I am smitten. Best pushchair ever. Looks weird in pictures but fairly normal in real life. It's SO light, folds teeny weeny and is rugged. We've just dragged it all over hilly wet Wales. It's fab

I wish I'd bought one ages ago instead of the many other crap ones we've been through

It doesn't recline but that wasn't a problem for dd who managed to nap perfectly happily. I even had to put my 5 yr old in it at points and it took it
