Hi, I'm thinking of buying one second hand and was wondering whether I can put a 4 month old in the bottom seat (no cocoon) if reclined flat?

I have a 2 year age gap b/w my two and already have a Bee+ and BJCM. I had been been hoping not to buy a double and just rely on the sling and buggy board but I am finally thinking that I do need a double. I do a lot of walking and hardly ever use the car or public transport. My 2.4 year old does like to walk but we've have had too many public meltdowns where she wants to be carried and refuses the buggy board/to walk/be carried in a sling on my back. Then I think it would just be easier if I could bribe her with some raisins or distract her with a book and strap her in a buggy. If the baby isn't sleeping, I will sometimes swap them over so baby goes in the sling and toddler in the Bee but it's such a faff sometimes.

My 4 month old is also in the 98th percentile for weight and I hadn't banked on him being so heavy already so carrying him a sling on my front all day isn't that comfortable and he's too little yet to go in a back carry (which would be comfier). I also have the issue that if my toddler (going through her terrible two's... argh) has a tantrum, it's harder to physically hold her to calm her down when I have a baby strapped to me. Again, that's when I wish I had a double so I could be truly hands free.

So my questions are:

  1. Can I use the bottom seat now with my 4 month old? I borrowed a P&T cocoon as a moses basket when he was born and he outgrew it at 4 weeks.

  2. Would £350 be reasonable for a second hand one? They seem to go for that much on eBay.

  3. We don't have the space for 3 buggies so we'd need to get rid of one. We love the Bee+ and BJCM, so which would be best to sell?! I'm thinking the BJCM?

Lastly, we travel a lot as my husband's family live abroad. Would the P&T double be counted as one buggy by an airline?

Asking so many questions as it's such a large amount of money to spend and my husband isn't keen anyway (but then he's not the one looking after two kids all day) so I want to be sure that if i get it, it's worth it.

Thanks!
