Phil&Ted Smart Lux

So I've seen Phil &Ted smart lux online and I think it ticks all my boxes.

Rear facing
One handle
Sturdy wheels
for child up to 20 Kilos
It also has a built in carrycot. Which means in the unlikely event that DS1 cracks the shits I could carry baby and just turn the carrycot into a seat.

My big worry is that it looks like the seat has to be in seat mode and forward facing to fold. Is this likely to drive me crazy?

the closest place to see one is three hours drive away so I need to be kind sure.

I dont have the lux, just the normal smart. Does the lux not need adaptors to parent face? If not id say having to forward face to fold isnt really a problem as long as ots easily changed from ff to pf.

They original is annoying as you have to faff with adaptors when folding and changing the seat around. I have a brittax bsmart which only folds in forward mode but it is so easy to do that it has never been an issue

Ive had a look at the instruction video and it looks really simple, and has a much better hood and full recline, I might look into getting one myself ! Grin

it is good looking isn't. I'm considering it or the Baby jogger versa but the versa is loads more and needs a carrycot and I'll probably carry baby a lot and the versa is about twice the price.

How much is it? I haven't been able to find out. Doesnt look like many places are stocking it yet

I'm in Oz so it's $550. I ended up contacting a local store and they should be getting it in soonish. So will wait and have a look at it in person. Also strap DS who is 18kilos in while in the shop to see how that fits too.

Ive found them for £350, not a bad price as it seems its not going to have the issues that the smart v1 &2 had

I've just bought one from Buggybaby.co.uk for £349. They have all the colours in stock and it came 2 days later! So happy with it. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Hazchem · 27/05/2014 22:34

that is good to here. I wish they would hurry up and stock it here!

Oh dear. Shame you are in Oz as I know they can accommodate most places..but not that far! You'll just have to come over and buy one in person and take it back!

I could buy it online but I really want a play. Baby isn't due to December so I should be ok. Although I would really really like to get rid of the fing Maclearn :)
