Recommendations on where to start!

DH and I are expecting DC1 in a few months so have been looking at pushchairs/prams etc to try to narrow down our options. We are rather overwhelmed though to be honest! Can anyone recommend anything that's worked for you on similar circumstances to us that we should go and look at please?

We live rurally, so we spent our time either walking on rural paths or driving. We very rarely use public transport. My car boot is quite small (old style ford fiesta) so space is an issue in the car. Storage space isn't a problem in our house, we have no stairs to get to our front door so won't have to carry it up thankfully.

I'd like something with quite solid wheels for walks in the woods etc, but would like it to be light enough to work in town as well... Is that possible?

DH is very tall, and I am about 5"7 so ideally want something with a handle high enough for both of us.

We can't decide if something with a compatible car seat is any use to us because everywhere is about 40 mins drive from us, so by the time we have driven anywhere and home, baby would probably need to be out of car seat when not in the car.

Does anyone have any suggestions please? Thanks got reading a far too long post !

If you're rural, you'll want something with decent suspension - DH and I have been looking at the Graco Evo XT which seemed to be very good for this, better that a lot of models at more than twice the price, folds down fairly small (although not as much as the Graco Evo which doesn't have the pneumatic tyres and extra suspension - might be worth looking at them both (XT is only in Mothercare)

Funnily enough, we went into mothercare today and were taken with the Graco Evo xt as well. Thanks for the recommendation Smile.

I came on to suggest the Easywalker Mini but the Evo XT looks great!

wishes it was available when I needed as I can't justify it now

Yes a graco evo xt is a great recommendation but the fold is pretty big so id suggest trying it in that boot of yours first, a bugaboo Cameleon would be a great option amazing light weight chassis with a hit the trail mode which means you can take if off road as well fairly compact fold. Britax affinity id suggest back includes a lot of suspension and a smooth ride with the back air tyres. City mini versa, silver cross surf with all terrain tyres. hope that helps :)
