Evo mini or armadillo?

Thinking of selling my pram and stroller and replacing with just one pushchair

The two I am looking at are the graco Evo mini and the mamas and pApas armadillo

I did have my heart set on the armadillo but have seen some bad reviews?

I currently own both! I actually like both hence why Ive kept the two.

The only things I don't like about Armadillo is that the seat doesn't sit very upright at its most upright setting and the harness can be a pain to fasten.

The only things I don't like about the evo mini is that id prefer a peek a boo window in the hood and my dd (13 months) doesn't sleep as well in it as she likes an adjustable footrest.

We normally keep the armadillo in my partners car and use it when we are going out somehwere as its the better for sleeping in but I use the evo mini more day to day for shorter trips locally (I don't drive so walk a lot). I use it for the supermarket as its basket is easier to access than the Armadillo.

They are both good pushchairs imo, lightweight, easy to fold, nice to push, big hood/basket etc. I guess it depends what aspects you prefer in a pushchair.
Hope that helps

It's the footrest putting me off the Evo mini

Is the fault with the armadillo harness that it comes into 5 pieces? If that's all it is I could live with that I think

I hate the Armadillo.....the seat is reclined - although the new ones are apparently more upright and the harness buckle is just horrible - one of the worst I have ever seen. I have a Graco Evo Mini, and although that harness also breaks into 5 pieces, its nothing like as bad to do up. No question for me - the Graco. Do look at the Babystyle Oyster Gem too - fab pushchair!

Off to look at the gem now thank you

Hmm had a quick look and gem is heavier than armadillo and Evo mini. I'm really looking for something light

Hey busymum, have you tried the armadillo IRL yet? I've ordered a Graco Evo mini and I'm not sure if it seems a bit bigger than I'd hoped. It's lovely and light though. I want to make my mind up before taking the labels off in case I want to return it.

Busymumto3dc · 07/05/2014 18:38

I haven't tried either no sorry

The harness is in 5 pieces on the armadillo but can be quite tricky to put together where as its much easier on the evo mini.

One thing to bear in mind is that there is no footmuff for the evo mini and I don't think any footmuff would fit well because of the shape of the seat. We hardly used our evo mini in winter for that reason.

I think Id slightly prefer the armadillo over the evo mini especially if it was going to be my main pushchair.

Best thing to do is go to Mamas and papas and have a look at the armadillo and you can find the evo mini in mothercare, kiddicare and babysrus

Hmmm I am still so torn!

Going to stick to the main pram I have for now as I still like dd parent facing, will probably be looking at changing at the end of summer

Does anyone have experience of the armadillo in snow? A bit put off the Evo mini having no footmuff

I would be surprised if you couldn't get a footmuff to fit the Evo. I am sure a Buggysnuggle would fit - there's a good height between the seat and the footrest. A stay put blanket would certainly fit.

I had a look at the armadillo on the weekend. I thought the hood was way better than the evo mini but the seat wasn't very upright and I didn't like the way it folded. It's quite a bit more expensive too
