The old 'Versa or Versa GT' chestnut

I've narrowed my search for a reversible easy-fold down to the Baby Jogger Versa but am struggling to decide which version. I like country walks so am tempted by the GT wheels but from what I've read they don't claim to be all terrain so I'm wondering exactly how much the different wheels improve the performance over rougher ground. Does anyone know?! I've fallen a bit in love with a red one but only the standard version comes in other colours - the GT is black only. I'm prepared to give up my red dream if the GT is much better performance-wise.

I don't know if you've seen this article on the Versa vs Versa GT but it might answer some of your questions.

I think you need to think about your country walks. Is there anything which a more rugged tyre would help with compared to a hard wheel? I preferred the GT wheels, but later, I did wonder if the lighter Versa would have been better to push. Its a tough decision. I think I would go for a GT though.

I love my GT and am very glad I didn't go for standard wheels. The suspension feels fine to me and it's so easy to push over bumpy ground. Haven't tried it on sand but it's fine with rough grass and forest tracks.

I had exactly this dilemma. I went for normal Versa (in red!). I walkway dogs across fields and roughish. tracks every single day and it copes marvellously. still light to push (gt was heavier and also felt heavier when going around shops, lifting into boot etc), good suspension and just brilliant all rounder. I made my decision on what % country walks: shopping or around town. For me I do about 30:70, so went with lighter and the colour I wanted and I'm so pleased with the pushchair a year on.
I've now also got an umbrella fold I keep in the car, but versa still gets used for off road dog walking each day or wherever I don't need to put it in the car. One thing tho, the matching footmuff which has been on pushchair for 6 months only comes in black, which is daft. Hmm
