How to release the hood on the Babystyle Oyster?

I cannot, for the life of me, work out how to make the hood go up! From what I can see, there is a metal bar that attaches to both sides of the pushchair. This seems to only go about 10cm away from the back of the pushchair, which means the hood is only sticking out a tiny bit. I've unzipped the bar to see how big the hood is meant to be, but I can't work out how to get the metal bar to move too!

Help please!!

Do you mean to remove the hood, or just to pull it over a child?

Turns out it just needed brute force. I left it to The Brute to fix (ie DP!)
