Am I getting this all wrong? Folding the older Bugaboo Bee

When parent facing.

I find that once 'folded' it isn't remotely flat and the seat back likes to swing out, etc - it's very very awkward to store or carry about.

Forward facing is great but I wanted it for its RF capacity so not going to give in and change it round yet

Am I missing a trick or is the RF fold on the original bee just a bit crap?

I don't remember that well but from memory the fold is never what you'd call flat, it's more boxy. I recall the bee plus also having the flappy seat but I could be wrong and maybe they actually changed it. I've only owned about two pushchairs that you might call comfortable to carry about, pretty much everything is awkward one way or another IMO!

Have you folded the seat in on itself before folding? You use the seat recline handle to put the seat back so it's nearly flat against the seat bottom like a clam shell before folding it

Oh. Hmm. Do you mean fold it back, or fold it forwards? I do the thing where you push the white part to one side while clasping the seat back adjuster, so you can pull it much further than usual and it sort of folds down onto the seat, and then fold the pram?

If you mean it has to go the other way (like to 'lie flat' mode for the backrest) then I'm doing it wrong!

Yes you Are doing it right then. The seat back should come forwards towards the handlebar and the flat bottom of the seat as far as it will go. It does fold flatter forward facing though.
