Ok, I've had lots of great advice on here, but I'm rubbish at making decisions.... I've put my maclaren up for sale, but panicking when there's interest incase I don't find something as good....

I have a nearly 4 year old and a 6 month old, use a britax vigour on and off, bought a maclaren quest sport to use as we used and old one with dd2 and liked it, used it a few times with the baby, but I can't steer one handed and hold onto dd1, we live near busy roads and I like to be able to do this. Didn't think about needing to do this with a second child!

I love the lightness and simplicity of the maclaren, dd2 sits pretty well in it. But, we make heavy babies and long ones! So with dd1 she was a lump to push in the end, but the maclaren coped with the task!

I've considered the bjcm4 and the b-agile, which still may be a go-er....

So, I'm looking for:
Able to push one handed
Something lightweight within reason
Good for 6 month old through to up to 3 years
Mainly use on pavements but occasionally walks in woods/tracks, not off-road stuff though, not a deal breaker as I carry with a baby carrier too.
Good for lo's who are 'big' aka heavy children!
Pretty good quality in case we have any more lo's
Something pretty upright as I like them to sit upright when they can
As simple as the maclaren so I don't need to justify why I need to change to oh!
Something I can put shopping on/in I have hamster bags I can use. (This is a bonus more than anything)
Not a massive annoying rain cover like the vigour has! (Not a big issue, but worth saying!)
Nothing I have to faff around with!

I will probably think of some other bits in a minute! Sorry for such a list...if it's a vote for the bjcm or b-agile then so be it....just help me decide before I panic some more!

I won't be using it for the 4 year old, just the baby....do you think a 6 month old will be ok in these.
Was thinking the 4 as we have the vigour 3+ and when dd1 was older it was a bit tippy at times...any thoughts?

Baby jogger city mini with 4 wheels I have a mclaren xt as I dont like the bjcm but its purely for silly reasons its the only pushchair that will do everything you need it to. Take the plunge!

You don't like the bjcm? Well, now I need to know why...quite likely the same silly reasons I'm doubting it!

Alright.. different approach.. why are you not going for the city mini, what's stopping you?

Took my red kite zumi to the zoo today and it was fab, easy to push on paths, grass and hold 3yo s hand yet light enough to pick up briefly complete with 12kg dd2 if she was too low down to see something. It's much closer to a stroller without being a stroller than the city mini or agile are.

The single reason I don't have a bjcm4 or a bjcmgt is they're all 10cm wider than I want to deal with. Over time I have had a bjcmd, b agile, bjcmgt and b motion. Imo the baby joggers are the better overall package but the b agile may suit if you want something specific from it (ie a lower handle, narrower, 4 wheels, cheaper price, full size carrycot etc.)

Well I like the maclaren, I like its lightness, easy fold, it's small, dd looks ok in it, rain cover isn't a pain, simple, but...I can't keep hold of dd1 and it's a pain to push with shopping/full load. I think I'm worried if I sell it and get a bjcm and make a mistake I'm stuck....I don't have any spare money to change it if it doesn't work out, hence being overly cautious I think. Plus compared to an umbrella fold any other just seems quite bulky and I'm looking at it thinking do I need it when I've got a britax vigour....is it going to be much different than that?
On an aside, is the 4 much different in push/kerbs etc than the 3?

It's purely cosmetic! Totally silly! I know its a great pushchair but just dont like the way it looks! As I said I went for the xt but the bjcm 4 would of been the next choice.

I have a nipper 360 and it does all that, apart from it doesn't quite go vertical seat position. Done me great for 2 kids, still going strong after almost constant use since March 2010.

And if you get an old model, you should get for under £200. The V2 is showing as £196 on Google, but the V3 (latest) is only about £240 and comes in lots of lovely colours :-) I want a new purple one, but can't justify it :-( as old still perfectly good.

Dollybird....I get that completely....I use a baby carrier...found one about 4 months ago, was ideal, didn't go for it because it wasn't pretty enough!
I think the 4 looks better though.
I think if I look at the nipper it's going into something bigger isn't it?

You'll love the BJCM. Get one second hand from Gumtree, save your pennies.

I didn't like my BJCM, I found the handle was too high, the wheels were hard (the GT may be better) it's not supportive enough for a baby and my toddler got annoyed because it wasn't upright enough. I found it heavy (but it is lighter than many prams to be fair) and I found it hard work to lug up and down stairs. The accessories like the raincover had to be bought separately and were expensive IMO and last but not least I found it hard to communicate with DS when he was in it because it doesn't parent face and it's fairly wide (compared to an umbrella stroller).

I know everyone else loves them but I wanted add and alternative view!

What about the MB Mini? It's 58cm wide, weighs under 8kg, has 10 inch wheels that have air but are somehow puncture proof and would easily handle paths/grass, takes up to 5kg of shopping in the basket and you could get the freerider for your four year old (it's a cross between a scooter and a buggy board).

I think it trumps the BJCM but every mum will have different stroller preferences.

In theory the mb mini is great but the seat is quite shallow and there is a lot of vibration as you push from the way the wheels are moulded.

The nipper is fab too but bigger.

Ultimately I've been looking for something like this for years, it's very hard to find.

I have tried a cybex callisto (single handled umbrella fold) and have a babyhome emotion xtreet that I brought from Spain 3 years ago. Which genuinely is the light, tiny, massively easy to push stroller that isn't umbrella fold. If you can find one second hand definitely have a look at those if you like the look of it as it's an amazing pushchair.

Have also been looking at the bebedue summum on and off for a year or so, it could be great. Have ordered off the site before, the xtreet was from them, have also had toys and a couple of things in the last fortnight and entirely reliable.

The BJCM3 is more tippy and unstable coming off a kerb than a BJCM4. If you plan to ever use a car seat on the chassis, then get a BJCM4.

The MB Mini is simply awful. Shallow seat, vibrating wheels, shallow basket, moving handlebar, the hood doesnt sit right on it, short footrest and more. You may as well get a Swift it this is an option because its far better for about £50 more.

I personally would get a BJCM over a B-Agile unless you are of short stature and then the B-Agile may well be better.

No, definitely between the b agile and bjcm, we have heavy and long babies so the mb wouldn't be any good in the longer term. We need something that will last and possibly do another lo...I'd like a better resale value really due to limited pennies, but that's a bonus.
Got to have a little play with the b agile again and it was better/easier the second time round, but bjcm felt more robust.
Just need to decide whether it's going to be a better option than the maclaren.
