Problem with straps on my City Jogger Mini

Does anyone else have this issue?

DS is nearly one, around 11kg, and I use quite a thin fleecy pram liner/muff thing from Mothercare. When he's wearing a padded jacket, the straps barely fasten - and they're at they're longest length.

Obviously Baby Jogger would like me to buy their foot muff thing, but the one I have is not bulky - it's like a fleecy blanket. We bought the buggy to last up to four years but the straps are so tight!

They're at their longest and the shoulder straps are at the highest height, as I was told they'd give more space that way.

This can't be right, can it?

That doesn't sound right. I have a city mini, diss 2.6 and tall. Even with his bulky winter jacket the straps do up no bother.

Can yo take a photo of the straps and I can check agains my buggy?

sounds unusual, i never had an issue getting them round my 4yr old!

i would put the straps down to shoulder level though, it's possible you're "wasting" a lot of the strap by it being too high and trapped behind the footmuff

We have the same problem! I'm convinced it's just because I'm doing something wrong though, hopefully someone will come along with the answer. Our's is an older model.

I've taken the entire seating area apart and checked the connected strap isn't twisted. I might measure them at their longest and check against someone's. It's bonkers and tres annoying. Even the middle strap is at its longest.

Will move the straps back down to shoulder height and see if it makes a difference.

I don't know happened but I seem to have uploaded the same photo three times. And it's now sideways. I even did a move one with a teddy for perspective. Anyway, if you can be bothered, please do have a look. It's really hard to tell!

Ok, I can see them now. On the strap in the left there is a black bit, is the strap above it double thickness?

You mean where the buckle is to shorten/lengthen? Above it, yes it is double.

Ok that's where your extra length is. The buckle bit can slide right to the top beside the clip.

I'm being really thick - forgive me, you're being very patient. When I slide it up, the "free" part of the strap extends i.e flaps out and the entire strap shortens. Like on a bag.

magicstars - move the buckle that adjusts the length up to the top but not in at shortening/lengthening way - just shift the whole buckle up!

Not at all, can you unclip it from the top?

What you want to do is pull the lower strap through the buckle, but keep the upper part in the same place.

Does that make sense? I would take pics of my straps but it's out in the car an I'm in my jams!
