He's grown out of the pushchair! What now?

We've got a Loola Bebe confort which we got secondhand from an NCT sale and it's been great, but my broad-shouldered, massive 16 month old is looking incredibly cramped in it now - his shoulders are all hunched. I can't believe we've only just noticed, it must have been like that for a while.

He's a big boy, top centile for height and weight and wears age 2-3 clothes. What strollers aren't too pricey and will fit him for a while longer? We regularly walk 1.5 miles into town and back, so he won't be walking that under his own steam for a while yet I imagine, and while I love using the backcarrier I categorically refuse to use it when the icy weather gets underway as the idea of slipping and falling on the baby gives me the horrors.

I've had a look on amazon and there is just too much choice. Any words of wisdom?

We had the same model pushchair as you and our DD grew out of it about the same age. It's very narrow indeed.
Luckily we also had an old maclaren from our first DD so we have been using that. But at my mum's we have a second hand cheapo mothercare buggy that is absolutely fine too. Really you don't need anything with bells and whistles at this point, IMO.
If I were you I'd look on EBay or gumtree for a cheap umbrella pushchair and just use that. Most of them are much of a muchness, as long as they have room for shopping underneath, fold down small and have a rain cover...

depends what your budget is like and what kind of pushchair you need.

you could go for a bog-standard stroller like a maclaren or osmething. the pricier ones have bigger wheels, better suspension etc so would be more comfy

baby joggers have generous seats, are nice to push. you can get the GT version which has better wheels for bad weather too.
