Hi there - I have been looking for a new pushchair recently as we bought a phil and teds navigator and my wife is having problems with it veering off on uneven pavements and going up into buses etc. . Its also a little heavy so I was hoping to just simply get a lighter model which was still a tandem and would suit a newborn and a 3 year old.

Now I have looked at like 20 - 30 models and all the ones I was hoping to buy say they only take up to 15kg!? Why are they all doing this when its soo easy to make them a bit stronger and suit all situations?! I know the 3 year old will be doing allot of walking / strolling soon but there are times when we just need to get somewhere fast or easy and we wanted to get them both in.

So is there anyone out there in this situation (my wife is very small by the way so it is hard for her)? And what buggies are you using -do you rate them? Maybe you can just stick an over the stated weight kid in some of these buggies? Two I like most were the jane twone and the oyster max icandy looks nice too. So yer four wheels, light-ish, two kids etc....thanks!

Are you sure 15 kg wouldn't do? He can't be much heavier than that surely? We have a nipper 360 which comfortably fits my one and three year old (he is 14kg and tall) he doesn't go in it much now but I have also pushed it up a hill with him and my 5 year old (19kg) in it quite easily. It is a very light buggy with fab off road wheels.

Remember they don't put weight on quickly so if he's around 15 kgs he's not likely to gain loads in the next year.

Yer I can see now these 15kg seats can really take allot more though its all unofficially - I have seen up to 20ish kg kids in the lower and more in the upper now on the peach - why the uk government doesnt make it 20kg or maximum like the US and Australia is rather strange. So I will be trying to get a peach 2 (as I want 4 wheels and the basket) but all the costs - eeeek! Thanks all.
