Mamas and Papas Armadillo?

I know they are new but wondered if anyone has one yet and would they recommend it?

Im looking for something small, lightweight, has 4 wheels and easy to fold. Have thought about a baby jogger but they seem quite wide and bulky and I will be using buses a lot.

Gonna ask the same question. Can't decide between a BJCM4 and armadillo. What I like the armadillo is the adjustable footrest, which BJCM4 does not have. Is this an important feature? I sometimes feel that with dangling legs even the lie-flat position would not be so comfortable...

Another issue: I think the armadillo's backrest is not very straight up, even at the highest position. I don't know whether BJCM4 has improved this, since it used to be a problem, at leave with BJCM3 in the earlier versions.

Bit late but thought I'd pop in to say we've just bought an Armadillo. I'm not an experienced pushchair reviewer (first DC, previously had an iCandy Cherry that we were very happy with but ready to move to something smaller).

I love the armadillo so far, it's super easy to fold (and unfold). Fits well in our car, nice colours etc. Only problem so far is kind of one of our own making - we added our iCandy Cherry footmuff/liner to the Armadillo, it fits fine and DS is very snuggly in it still BUT it's a lot harder to fold now and you have to push quite hard to engage the catch - I don't know whether an 'official' footmuff would work better though...

Systine I can't really help RE how necessary an adjustable footrest is but similar to you I feel it will make a difference to how comfortable naps are (when older - his legs don't reach that far yet!). RE the backrest, it is not that upright. I really wanted an upright seat but I looked hard and it is very rare. The armadillo is better than many I've seen but still not ideal...

Thanks for sharing. I still haven't decided yet. I saw it dropped to 179 and went up to 199 again. Ever since then, I just wanted to wait for the 179 tag again, which however takes a bit longer than my patience. :(

We bought one. Previously had a second hand one but it broke so decided to treat myself the kids to a new one.

So far I love it - use it for school and nursery run. Steers easy, seat is roomy, light and easier to lift up curbs and steps. I love the hood. The kids have no complaints and my 5yo can fit in it (though he is small for his age), also it's easy to recline. Cons: the cost and it's only a 3 point harness. I have it in yellow.

Oh and with the orginal footmuff is a bit harder to fold but don't need much force, in my opinion anyway.

Thanks for sharing both of you. It doesn't look like there is a footmuff made specifically for the armadillo other than the stripe one but doesn't look like it makes much difference. I want one now!

We have had the armadillo for about a month now and I love it. It's easily the best pram I have owned. You don't realise how useful one handed steering and folding is until you're trying to do several things at once, lol.

Also it's a 5 point harness, not a 3. It does look like a 3 but it comes apart, if you have a close look at the straps you'll see!

The only thing I would advise...the yellow one attracts flies...I am constantly telling my OH off because he fought for the yellow and now I'm constantly having to swat flies! Ugh!

tam is it one handed steering all the time, like on cambers etc? Does it feel compact when open, i know the fold is very slim but i can't guage the open size and haven't seen one irl.

Regarding the upright angle .... this right now is my main issue before purchasing (that, and the wheels). I emailed M&P and received reply that the upright angle is 115 degrees. so i suppose if 90 is totally upright, add another 25 degrees back.

i think i can live with that - my only other concern (since i can't see it in stores where i live yet) is the wheels. besides that they are small, are they a bumpy ride for the little one? they seem plastic-y from what i can see in pics.

We bought an armadillo at the weekend and I absolutely love it! Re: the question above about whether it is bumpy / are the wheels too plastic? - all I can say from my experience with other pushchairs is that the armadillo feels like it's floating on air! It's so smooth, and flows along, and is really easy to steer one-handed. This pushchair is for dd3 and up to now we have been using a quinny buzz (original first version out) and a maclaren, both of which were bought 8 years ago for dd1. So I may be more easily impressed than some, as my previous wheels aren't the latest design! But my old quinny, which I've always been happy with, now feels so heavy and difficult to steer in comparison. And the maclaren just seems so rattly and bumpy now I've tried the armadillo.
My main reason for shelling out on a new stroller is that dd3 just seemed so uncomfortable and slumped in the maclaren, probably because she's still quite little, there was no support for her legs which didn't reach the foot bar, and you couldn't recline it so it was hard for her to sleep. So far, the armadillo just looks so comfy and supportive for her, and it's great to be able to lie her flat and sit her up during our trips out.
Also it is very roomy and long, this pushchair really will last as long as you need one. My 5 year old dd2 (who is quite light / delicate) fits in it comfortably!

Also thinking about getting one of these to replace our iCandy Peach. Does anyone know if they'll take a buggy board?

Hi, just watched a video on the armadillo, and once the buggy is folded it didn't look like it locks closed? Am considering ordering this from my catalogue but will be using it for travelling so need something that won't keep popping open onced closed.

Has anyone had the blue fizz armadillo I saw it in store n like it, ordered it from very website and when it came it looks more purple/blue rather than bright blue has this happened to anyone else??

I did go for the Armadillo in the end and glad I did. Its very comfy and roomy for my dd and great to push. The only thing Id improve is the fact the seat isn't as upright as Id like.

leahy22 the pushchair does lock when folded so great for travelling.

Gemd24 I can't quite remember what the blue one like when I saw it in store, we have the Coral pink one although I'd say it just looks orange to me rather than any pinky shade and the black one looked grey to me. Maybe you could take it to the store and compare it to a blue fizz one there.
