Maclaren footmuffs

I have a Maclaren Techno XLR which came with the matching footmuff. We used it for DS1 lots and the rubber on the handlebars is now knackered and kind of disintegrating. We did a repair with bike handlebar tape so we could still use the buggy with the carrycot when DS2 was little, but we now want to get a new, smaller folding buggy. DS2 is already 6 months so we're looking at the Quest - also as it folds a bit smaller. However, I see they don't come with a footmuff. So, I'm wondering if the XLR footmuff would fit - does anyone know? It's in such good condition it would seem a shame to have to buy a new one...

Hmm not sure. I have the quest but bought a mothercare own brand quilted footmuff which was a fraction of the cost of the maclaren and better quality. Think they are just a standard size, am sure the sales assistant in mothercare told me the footmuff I bought would fit any maclaren so the same must be true in reverse?

Just thought - can you take the footmuff into the shop and try it on a display model to see if it fits?

Hmmm, seemingly what we have is called a "boot". It fixes to metal poppers on the frame and then tucks under the main seat part. It's not like the universal one that fits to the seat harness. Does the Quest frame have metal poppers on it? They're just on the bit by the seat on the XLR. I'd love to try it out in the shop but I live abroad so am buying online...

Not sure will check the pushchair tomorrow and let you know, it's in the car boot at the moment. Not spotted any poppers but can't say I've ever looked for any.

Just had a look and there are some large round metal things what look like half a popper on the edge of the fabric that could be what you are looking for? Two on each side and another two at the top near the head. Never spotted them before as they are so close to the frame. If you need me too I'll take a photo
