Hi,
Anyone else had a problem with a Mamas and Papas chassis for their travel system?
The chassis for our Zoom travel system failed to pop up as it should within a couple of goes. Problem is we live in deepest Cornwall...nowhere near a Mamas and Papas store. We bought it before DD arrived from the Cardiff store when visiting family. Really pleased with the deal we got on the whole package.
BUT NOT HAPPY NOW! We are in Cardiff again and thought that we could just return the faulty/ broken chassis and get a replacement. Oh no...they send yours away 3 times!!!!!! to be looked at, scrutinised and repaired and then they give it back to you. This can take up to 2 weeks we were assured. On explaining that we live in Cornwall and that this arrangement was not practical for us we were asked if we could manage without it for a while.....um......?????? No!
Instead they offered us a chassis on loan. We can loan it for as long as we like...they may be waiting some considerable time! We don't know when we can fit another visit in and I am frankly incensed that this is even happening. A big company that is meant to help to make life easier for mother and baby cannot just replace a faulty chassis!!! AND the one we now have on loan (as I was not just going to put up with a broken product that was part of a package over £300!...as was also suggested) is not the Zoom chassis that we chose for its lightness and manouevrablity, but another heavier, cumbersome and bigger model and one which came out of their back room dirty ....had to ask for a cloth to wipe it down (the assistant did wipe it down very well though). Incidentally, it only just fitted into DH's estate boot...it ain't going to fit in my Renault Clio!!
So now I will go back to Cornwall with a chassis that I didn't want...on loan from a Cardiff store...with a piece of paper telling me mine is in for repairs and wait for a phone call and await its imminent return. Will they send it back to us?
What a ridiculous arrangement/ policy!!!!!!! Would you agree?
Or is it our fault for living in Cornwall where mother and baby shops are very few and far between??!!
