HELP! Bugaboo Bee vs Icandy Strawberry

Hello, I'm looking for some advise regarding what buggy to get I'm not due until the first week of December and with so many to chose from I keep changing my mind .

I need a buggy to suit two life styles - London living, where I will be on and off public transport ( Buses, tubes etc ) and living by the sea side and downs where I have a car but will be county walking.

I was set on the bugaboo bee as the reviews are great for public transport, however have now been put of by the wheels which don't seem suitable for the hills and pebbles etc, so I have recently come across the icandy strawberry but does this fit well on buses and tubes ?

I also love the idea of a the carry cot for over night stays in london but am worried this wont fit on public transport, which I know the chameleon doesn't with out a struggle

Two pushchairs or the compromise you feel most able to make imo!

If it was me I would get two things, but hey any excuse if you really really don't want to do that then you'll need to compromise on something.

Or perhaps get an easywalker mini...

I've had many Bees, the Strawberry is the one pushchair missing from my extensive collection

The Strawb is pretty compact though isn't it? I had an Apple and it was a big bugger. I thought the Strawb was the Bee killer, as they say :)

I don't know the size difference between the Strawberry and Peach but I have an Icandy Peach Blossom and even being a double with the carry cot on it and the bigger seat, I can fit it fine on a bus or even in a small black taxi.

I would vote for the Strawberry, I love mine! I have had a Bee in the past but wasn't a fan unfortunately. The Strawberry is heavier than the Bee but is really easy to fold in one piece if you needed to when going on public transport. The wheels are big enough to cope with bumps and pebbles easily but not proper off road walks, the Strawberry is still more of a town/city pushchair IMO.

All these comments are great thank you soo much :) I think I will look at the strawberry again, what are peoples thoughts regarding the buffalo which was another one I have been told to look at which might do the job?

I don't know if I'd want a bee as my only pushchair but lots of Londoners do very happily. I use a cameleon 95% of the time now in London and it does go on buses and the tube ok, so I imagine a strawberry would be fine. I don't think you'd actually want to fold a buggy to get on a bus until your dc is about 2 and can walk on and sit down independently. Unless you are more dexterous than I am and can sling a bag over one shoulder, carry a baby in one arm and collapse and carry your buggy with the other without dropping the first two. Theoretically possible with a babyjogger or maclaren but still not something you'd normally want to do. I always get on at the back of a bus anyway so width isn't such a big issue. I've never been in a position where I could have squeezed on if my buggy was 2cm narrower.

I'd say if the cam works for me in London the buffalo prob would too and would be even better for the seaside part of your life. I want a seaside part of my life, sounds goood!

I think I would send you off to look at the Easywalker Mini or Bugaboo Buffalo or Cameleon. These photos might help with your question though. I have literally just sold my Bee after having a love hate relationship with it. I got fed up of it not handling cambers, slopes or anything uneven. I have to say, if you are looking at a smaller pushchair, then the Babystyle Oyster Gem is definitely worth a look. I have been riding mine over cobbles and uneven surfaces and its been fab. Its probably not one for the beach, but its light enough to carry. Its just a bit more sturdy than a Bee and I much prefer it.

We've bought the Strawberry for our soon-to-be here little one. I'm due in a couple of weeks and so glad we decided to go for this! As bubba isn't here yet, i've just been playing around with it and getting used to it and love how lightweight it is, i can even put it up using one hand! It's so clever and so glad i went with this. The fact that it looks amazing is just an added bonus :) I also tried my friends before i bought it and it's definitely the right one. We went into London and it was just such a smooth ride and so easy going in and out of shops, we've also taken it on walks in the country and it does tick all the boxes. My friend has been using hers constantly for 18 months and hasn't had any problems with it which is what sold me :)

Another strawberry fan here. We also got it in preference to the Bee. It works brilliantly on London buses. It's very easy to manoeuvre and is fine on slightly rougher ground. The only real downside is the hood is pretty small and hasn't provided quite enough shade in this weather.

I'm not sure how it would deal with pebbles but for walks in the country you could use a decent sling. We have a manduca which is great.

I have a Strawberry as my 'city' pushchair and its brilliant for that purpose (although I don't live in London so no idea about suitability on tube). However, I have a BJCM GT as a second pushchair for dog walking as the Strawberry is not up to the off roading across fields and forest trails. I definitely can't see it handling beaches etc.

My friend has a Bee and its perfect for her needs as she only walks around shops really. I've had a go with the Bee but frankly my ginormous 1 yr old looks ridiculous in it and it feels rickety to me.
