Is it time for a stroller?

Currently using quinny buzz for the 18month old I look after.

Loads of people are saying just use a stroller, am thinking no as I love the rear facing option - we 'chat'.loads

Key info
Use car / walk all the time (no public transport)
He sleeps in pushchair if out
Boot space isn't an issue

if the buzz works for you why would you change it?

I do have a mclaren which is chucked in the car for quick trips!

Yeh I know but I very very rarely use it. I comes out car about once a mont for a quick nip to shop - used for about 5 mins

If you both like rear facing then you should carry on as long as you like. It's much better for children's language development to be able to see and interact with their parents/ carers. Fwiw I have a lightweight maclaren and I hate it. Bumpy ride, heavy to steer, low seat, can't see DS, worse for naps. The only plus is that it's easy to get in and out of the car and unlikely to get nicked in the playground. Also I can lift DS while in it to negotiate stairs. But really, I worry about all the shakes and bumps, and rarely use it.

Imo if you walk everywhere strollers don't actually make much sense as they're harder to push and generally speaking less comfortable to ride in. Unless you're having access issues then yeah why change, although considering the buzz doesn't sit upright when rearward facing i'm slightly surprised an 18 month old is happy with that. Then again if he's sleeping some of the time perhaps it matters less.

I actually think older babies/ toddlers get more benefit from rear facing than tiny babies anyway because they are starting to chat and interact more, its like people think, oh keep them rear facing when they are asleep the whole time and don't know where they are and then once they are wanting to babble and chat turn them to face the other way! mad!
