Ds fell out of the Bee - was it my fault or is this an issue?

We went on a trip out the other day, short walk and so on - ds is tiny, only 4 months and slept for several hours, in his cocoon in the Bugaboo Bee.
It's new - I got it about 2 months ago and have only used it once before.

Ds2 was playing with the fold buttons on the handle - I asked him to stop but I think that he inadvertently manage to 'release' one side, so it was wonky for a few minutes.

I was pushing it through a park over some undulating grass so when I noticed it wasn't symmetrical, I re-clicked the handle into open position and thought no more of it.

About half a mile later we were on a road and went up a kerb, and the whole seat fell down. Ds was very luckily still in his cocoon, and ended up sat in a sort of heap, with the top of his head visible and the rest of him inside the cocoon, on the road. He didn't cry and wasn't hurt.

I realised that the seat had completely slipped off its little bracket things - it was still attached to the frame but the seat part was pointing down to the ground iyswim.

I'm HOPING this was because it had been pushed for a minute or two without being locked open, before - allowing the seat to slip off one side, then the kerb kind of made the other side slip off?

But just wanted to check that this isn't a known fault or something. I hate to think what could have happened had it been a busy road.

So glad ds is safe and did not get hurt . My ds likes to play with the handle bar latches

I don't know of any recent faults with bee but the most common fault in past 2 years is with shimmying wheels, rattling and wheels getting jammed. There was a recall to deal with wheels getting jammed or something.

I can't figure out how the seat would come off like in your case though

I suspect that your DS released the side and it didn't go back into place properly TBH. I haven't heard of this issue and if he was playing with them, then it could well have resulted in this I suspect (without trying to recreate it!)

I'm glad it isn't a known issue Tiggy. I'd rather it were simple user error, though that makes me a dick

I did click the handle properly open, again, when I realised it was half collapsed, but I think by the the seat was probably already on one 'bracket' as it were (those little jobby black bits it sits on top of?) and thus, going up the kerb allowed it to slip off the other one and down he went.

It was quite amusing in a panic stricken kind of way - the fact he didn't appear to notice but just sat there, unable to see anything, was pretty funny
