Oyster Max questions

Hi, I need to find a pushchair that will be both a double and a single. It needs to be capable of taking a sleeping child (size of a 4year old but is younger) and younger child (12-18 month size).
Tiggy very kindly suggested the Oyster Max as one option that might be suitable and I'm loving the look of it.
I wondered how quick is it to convert from a single to a double (I would need to do this quickly).
Any other suggestions for pushchairs that might be suitable for this. It would need to have wheel guards on the back wheels.

I don't know how long I am going to need to use it for both children, so would prefer not to buy something that can only be a double IYKWIM.
Also can the Oyster Max take a buggyboard in tandem mode?

Ok, the Oyster Max converts instantly (once the initial set up has been done).
You have one chassis, with some tiny adaptors and wheel guards which can all be left permanently in place once fixed (or removed if you wish but there's little point). They aren't exactly intrusive at the back here.

Once those are on, and fixed, you simply choose between one seat or two. If you dont put a seat on the lower sockets, then its no issue.

The Oyster Max technically can fit the Oyster board in tandem mode, but it would be very difficult for a child to straddle the lower seat! I think you can say its not possible. Its fine in single mode to have the board on - in fact its very good because of the space inside the handle. I MUST remember this when people ask about what pushchair to put a buggy board on!

The front seat of the Max is excellent for an older child.

I've got the Oyster Max and as Tiggy says its so easy to convert from single to double.

Out of interest I've managed to fix a bumprider board onto the back in tandem mode. I have a 8 mth in the top seat, 11 month in the bottom and a 20 month on the bumprider, using he pushchair seats. Still easy to push.

With a car seat on the bottom, the bumprider is still useable but it does have to come out a fair way, making it harder to push.

Ohh thats interesting! I guess a Bumprider has a fair bit of adjustability to make it further away from the rear seat.

The only measurements I can find for the seat are 32cm wide at front x 24cm deep. Do these sound right?
I put DC2 in the single pushchair I've been using and they fill it and it measures more than that. It worries me that the seat unit may not be big enough for them.
It is a lovely looking pushchair and would solve so many problems on the school run, particularly if it can take a buggy board as well. I'm secretly hoping that it's actually bigger than the measurements I've found. Unfortunately I can't get to see it in person (nearest store is over 30 miles away) and it is so much money, I'd hate to find out it was too small.
If anyone has measurements for seat width / depth and height to inside hood (front and middle) that would be fantastic!
Otherwise I don't know how I'll solve this current problem.

I have the seat width as 32cms wide at the front but 25cms deep.
These are actually pretty generous TBH. The depth is deeper than say a Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle or even a BOB which has a huge seat. I know a couple of pushchairs with deeper seats but most of mine have been less than 25cms deep!
One of the big positives with the Max is the good footrest length and you may find this is what makes your DC look comfortable. I know it has made a difference with my eldest.
My Max is stored so I can't dig it out to measure the hood height but its a good height and slides up the chassis.
