Help with hand pump?

Hi all, I've just got my pushchair delivered today.

I'm having trouble working out how to use the hand pump that comes with a Mothercare Movix. The tube end does not seem to expel air when I pump it but the other end does. However, when I connected the either end to the wheel it doesn't seem to inflate it.

Am I doing it wrong or is there a problem with the wheel tube itself?

ok went in to mothercare and I was using the hand pump wrong. Looks like the tube thing sticking out has to be pulled out completely and attached to the other end.
